so glad I clicked on this video....I am going to use vellum to make the same envelopes with the carriage die for my sister's wedding invites! can't wait to see how mine turn out! great video
I didn't buy these, thought they were too much work. I have the WeR memory keepers envelope board which is great, and the CC envelope board. I hadn't used that since I bought it but watched your demo on it and decided to try it. I love it. It is so easy to use, even easier than the WeR memories envelope board. If I want pretty flap,, I can emboss it. I like this demo because I don't feel bad about not getting these. Thank you!!!
I would have wanted the slimline die, but missed out on this one. Easy enough to hand make one as well. Or if one has the Envelope Punch Board you can do the same thing, & that is much simpler to use. Be well & TYFS all you do to demonstrate the products purchased on an HSN craft day!
I have a really popular video on making an easy slimline envie from scratch. For me, it's the "pretty" factor...which I think we do get if you use cardstock. I need to work on the vellum to get the best look. TY!!
Remember, part of the intent of these envelopes are slightly bigger to accommodate the bumpy cards and I think it looks like you have two score lines to do a small box card. I didn't order them because they seem quite large. Also she did come out with a set of slimline type of plates so that may work with the slimline die.
Not sure that's the case with the square envelope. They only have one score line...the other marks that appear are from the die itself gouging in. I was thinking there may be a way to make it an "envelobox," but they are not set up for that as is. Yes, Anna's slimline card dies are much bigger than what I normally do for slimline, so her envie is definitely set up for that! LOL!! TY!
This is an excellent tutorial! I really appreciate that you leave in your whole process, esp things like that second flap for the slimline card. Thank you!
I am regretting that I didn’t order the 6x6 die cut now. ( ordered the other 2). Love the quality of Anna ‘s die cuts. Thank for your tutorial👏👏 I appreciate the visual demonstration 😊
I never cut on my magnetic mat either. But I do have the back of the die laying on it to hold the die in place. It is a little weird trying to put the paper on top of the die, but hey, it works. I have the metal shim under the magnetic mat. I was doing it differently earlier and really messed up the magnetic mat. I am trying to save it.
Hi Vianney. I have the envelop maker & gadgets ..but collect Anna’s dies, well, you know how that goes 😊. Anyway, nice job using your pretty vellum, and on the fly too! 👏 I enjoyed it. Enjoy your day. Blessings 💜
I’m not sure if I have the long plates! Might have to order them ASAP. But I love your tutorial! The envelopes came out beautifully! I didn’t snap when I ordered, that I might need the big/long plates. Thank You! By the way I cut my magnetic mat when I first got my Gemini and didn’t know better. 😳
I would never cut into my magnetic mat either but I've seen Anna do it all the time. I like your vellum envelope. It's so pretty. I bought a big pack of colored vellum at a scrapbook convention and I don't use it much. Maybe I'll make some vellum envelopes! I'm pretty sure using the metal shim on a die that is not intricate generally warps the paper. I only use the metal shim for acetate or really intricate dies. At least that's what Sara says. :)
Vianney; thank you for your review on the AG 6x6 and the Slimline envelope die set. I was able to buy the 5x7 but I have not received yet. I like your design using the velum on the slimline and I also like the size. However; I was concerned on the 6x6 that it is not a big envelope; I'm wandering if the 5x7 will be the same? I think, the reason most of us bought those dies are to fit our 3D cards; if the envelope does not have the room; it is no bueno. Have a great day!
I ordered these and then got a message that they were sold out. I’m now thinking maybe it’s not a big deal that I didn’t get them. I would rather spend money on something else-I have the envelope maker. As always, I use your instructions instead of the ones with the dies because yours are more logical and easier!
Thanks for the tutorial. But I will continue to use the 12x12 piece of paper for my slimline envelopes. This way you don’t clue any side panels. You just score and fold. Much easier in my opinion.
Thank you for showing us how to get these cut out and experiencing the booboos of it. I was thinking that with the big envelope you can make art journals when you make a lot of them and sticking them together. There should be a video on it. Thanks again I well try it out.
I like that the slim line has wiggle room b/c so many AG cards are topped with many dimensionals but surprised the square was so tight. 🤷🏻♀️. For this particular set I think she should have taken the ‘Tonic’ route and had the patterns be optional insert dies. If sending a Christmas or Halloween card I wouldn’t want the floral swirly accents, just the envelope.
Thanks for the demo! I wonder why Anna didn’t make the angles the same on both ends of the side panels (on the slimline die), so you could just rotate the side pieces and use on either side? I don’t like using the un-pretty side of a die cut.
Is it the pressure or has the Anna G quality gone to the dogs? With impression dies, the butterfly in my set was kinda messed up and this month, the Flourish Cut & Emboss Folders have a glue mess around the die that ruins the paper. 🤔 Hmmm with my OG Gemini, plates don't warp like I've seen Jr plates warp. I always thought it was bcuz it's a bigger area to distribute the pressure 😄 I didn't buy these Anna G dies but I would've been talked out of them 🤣😂🤣
So...that's a very good question. It may be the dies. I recently used one of her dies int he Marquise (which I have done many times with her older dies) and it was sooooo tight. Kind of odd. again, too much pressure created. I wonder now... It's sad to see, but I have seen more and more feedback on her dies (and other items) that indicate quality control issues/design issues.
I have a question maybe you or your followers could answer. I have both Anna's machines and when I try embossing with the rubber mats, they started sliding out of machine. I followed the directions and the tried changing the order of the plates but it keeps happening. Any ideas?
I guess the shortest answer is...they do that. LOL! I'm sorry. It's so weird, but even in the Cuttlebug they do that. Maybe bc they're so thick...they have a lot of material that can be squished and displaced.
Hello. I make my envelopes from her papers to match the card & so their big enough to fit the card that is thick. You sure did make us sit up & think about the dies for the envelopes not fitting any other than a flat card.
If you apply the glue and then spread it evenly with a cosmetic sponge or even your finger, it will be less likely to show. Since the glue you used works pretty good with the vellum anyway I’d think evenly distributed would make it almost invisible. I think I’ll just keep making my envelopes the way I have been and forego the dies. They’re pretty, but between all the steps and the price I don’t see me wasting my time or money on them. I find it strange that an Anna 6x6 envelope would be so tight when she stacks her cards a mile high with layers.
I was surprised by the envelope being so tight, too. Especially since the dies are so big, might as well make them a wee bit bigger and make a more comfortable envie. TYSM, Marguerite!!!
If you fold the paper in half, you will have one right side and one backside in one cut. Love your videos, they are so helpful. Thank you!
Thanks, I suppose that saves some time with the same result! (: TY for your kind comment!

I’ve cut the both ways, but I’ve found that cutting into the plates gets a better cut. Thanks for showing your figuring out the paper part!
Thanks for sharing your experience!! (:
girl, you are right about that Nuvo glue!! I am hooked on it!
LOL! It's so good!

You know what, Vianney? I dearly LOVE it when you show us how to overcome the unintended!! You are amazing!!!
Wonderful tutorial! I was curious about these. Thank so much for sharing!
TYSM!!
I bought these dies. So glad I watched this video. I now know what to avoid. Thanks. Luv your videos.
TYSM! Have fun!
I agree with you on the placement of the tape…..
TY!
I'm so glad you have a mind that is so good at figuring out how to fix things cause don't. I love you try different things even if it seems scary. 😬
Awww, that is so kind, Dolores! TY!!
I miss the square one in HSN, it was sold out, but got the 5x7 and the slimline love them both. Hope they restock the square really wanted that one.
Like those, when working with vellium, use Bearly Art glue, it doesn't wrinkle your paper half as much as the other glues.
Have you used Art Glitter? That’s what I use and I’ve heard the Bearly is very similar-and less expensive.
Thanks for the tip! The Nuvo deluxe didn't wrinkle the vellum, either...the die and die cutting machine did that! LOL!

@@VianneyCreates Thank you, I'll go & find that one. I saw it when you made it & I actually liked it! Will look for it. TY for the reply.

Beautiful envelopes & vellum. Lovely job. Thanks for sharing. I hope this set comes back in stock. Blessings.🌸🌼💕
It’s less expensive to replace the magnet than the plates. Ann’s black mat works much better than the white one it comes with.
TY, I only have the white mat and it looks so bad once it starts breaking down. I may have to grab the newer one to try it out! (:

Thanks for the demo. I purchased the 5x7 die from AG. I can’t wait to try it.

Honestly, if I didn't do reviews I probably would have passed on these. I love collecting AG stuff but these were kind of "extra." Happy to help!
