Pocari Sweat is a must in our bike group specially when we do long bike rides (100+km) and specially during the summer.
Nice video! I didn't know too that there is a powder type, will definitely check on it and buy one. Thanks GA!

The Pocari Sweat sachet is convenient when you’re cycling. It’s light and compact to carry at your back jersey pocket. Then you can just buy cold water and mix it in your bottle. Not all sari-sari store would have a Gatorade or Pocari in stock.

always loved pocari, been drinking it since 2010. its origins start in japan and is sold both in japan and the middle eastern market to alleviate the marketable dominance of Gatorade in the west.
fun fact : the idea of the creation of pocari started when an Otsuka Pharmaceutical employee observed a doctor drink IV solution to rehydrate.

That's an interesting tidbit, thanks for sharing :)
I think a lot of people would find the taste of gatorade more friendly, at least at the first sip.
But for me, once I got used to the taste of Pocari sweat, it really became my preference.

@Gadget Addict comfortable tastes are influenced by cultural norms. Gatorade wasn't as popular in the middle East so everyone gravitated towards pocari. I love both tbh can't pick 1 over the other

Pro tip. Add the powder to a cold glass of sparkling water.

I'm a heavy Sweating guy, and in work I dehydrate my self working so I had to have 2 bottle's 1lr water + 1 or 2 water per work shift = 4 liter's of water per 12 hrs or work.
One of my Nurse Cousin's have warned me on getting Gatorade as the sugar level is too high to be normal to give some boosh or remove hang overs.
Now I make my own electrolytes and diet Meals with a blender.

That's probably one of the best options if you're going to be using something on a daily basis. At least you know exactly what's in it, and you can cater it to your specific needs 🤷‍♂️

I checked their website and they really make Pocari Sweat in powder form. I just bought a single pack for 10L for 550 pesos. It is really cost effective if you bought in large packs.

This brand is not in India, but we get many others. They are called by generic name = ORS (Oral rehydration solution) or Electrolyte.

I just ordered some of the bottled stuff. I have heard about it for years as a closet weeb. Saw it was finally on amazon and decided to order a case. I did also see the powder but I want to try the original first. But the powder is a little off putting considering how much there is for such little water.

I have not tried Pocari Sweat because every time I visit the grocery and look at the price...yeah, too expensive. I thought might as well go for the tried and tested Gatorade although even this drink is too expensive now a days.

Hydrite follows the WHO recommendation for oral rehydration salts if I am not mistaken.
For Pocari Sweat, it has more sugar content which is at 11g while the former is around 3g.
