As I’m in Canada, I got this collection a bit earlier by ordering through the Hourglass website, getting it sent to my US address, but then getting it couriered over the border 😭 so it was a bit pricier of a process this time but I wanted to get this information out for you so you can make an informed decision! ❤️
LAUNCH DATES: Mini Unlocked is supposedly coming to Sephora on Sept 23, and the Confession Lipstick Duo is the 25th! I already see the Sculpture palette available on my Sephora app even after the first access event, so perhaps it’s still open to Rouge only, but check anyway! 💕

Jena thanks for the awesome info in this video! Hourglass products are so beautiful on you. Being on a budget I haven’t been able to try any Hourglass. Being disabled due to brain issues and my next brain surgery is 10/7 right before my bday 9/29.

Really good review. Tons of practical info and I appreciate the comparison swatches between palettes.
As someone with dry, dry, dryyyyy eczema prone skin I find the hourglass powders to be some of the only powders that “set”/finish my face without making me look like a cactus 😭 My biggest criticism of them is please for gods sake release a range of 3 palettes with different depths for holiday so people don’t feel excluded from such a highly anticipated release.

I sure like the Hourglass products that I have. The 6 pan palettes are always something I think I would enjoy but haven’t pulled the trigger on! The blush I have is one of my favorites.

Great video, I am interested in trying Hourglass as I hear it is great for mature skin. So doing a little research and watching a bunch of your videos about the palette (some a 2nd time! lol). I see you gave one away, that is super sweet of you as they are not cheap. I see as well, they went up from a year ago, you mentioned $105, and now they are $115 CAD. Ouch! lol! :)
I did get the quad and I’m really happy with it. It’s going to be great for travel which I do once a month. I just hit pan on the ambient 4 I bought a few years ago so I was happy to purchase it and when I got it , it was as beautiful as I thought it would be 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I had thought this was probably very similar to the Ghost palette so thank you so much for confirming that. I have Ghost and Unlocked so I really don’t need Sculpture. I love the packaging but I’m not gonna pay $80 for just packaging lol. I was disappointed that Hourglass still hasn’t done a palette for deeper skin tones. You would think by now that they would have. That’s my only complaint with Hourlgass. I love their products and it’s a shame that not everyone can use them. I truly hope they start listening to us and start catering to everybody.
I have several hourglass palettes. I really don't need this years release. That being said.. I still really want it! ☺️ Still deciding. Trying to hold out for awhile.

I LOVE Houglass and have some of their singles. I purchased their quad blush palette last year and love it. I was thinking about buying the quad this year. I was hoping that would come to Sephora but with the donation part, kinda guessing it will be an exclusive on Hourglass.
Hi Jena! Thank you so much for reviewing the entire HourGlass collection. I love their formula; having tried deluxe size products. I have not purchased any for myself. It's not something I'm dying to get. Hopefully maybe in the future I can get it and try it out.
I bought the smaller one since I already own the ghost palette from last year so the smaller one seemed different enough. I also bought the structure lipstick they are really nice

I own the Hourglass Vol. 4 palette and the Ghost blush quad, and I love both of them. They take a really long time to be used up though! I'm tempted by the Unlocked quad in this fall release but I don't fancy paying full price for it so I'll wait. I'm in no hurry to get it HG products are getting so repetitive that I don't feel like I'm missing out or anything even if I skip several releases.

I have two of the ambient lighting powders but really want to buy a blush and bronzer. Every year I plan on buying the holiday palette, but then don't. Then I kick myself afterwards. Maybe this will be the year, I actually get it for myself :)

Query: I don’t own any Hourglass sets from previous years. I have mature light skin, dark blonde hair, green eyes. If I were to treat myself to just one- either the six pan, or the Unlocked / four pan, which would you recommend? Both look so pretty, but it sounds like the four pan, which is more affordable, might be a bit too much color for light / light-med skin tones?

Does anyone think/know whether the setting powder in the 4 pan unlocked palette (soft light) would be too deep for *very* fair skintones? That's always my concern.

I bought the quad on day one, I did miss out on the unlocked so I was very excited! I have used it everyday, it’s amazing. I am definitely going to get the lipsticks and the palette I love the ghost lipsticks and have used them a ton!
I ordered this on hourglass this weekend the I think the next day or 2 days later it was on Sephora for rouge lol I was so upset I didn’t just hold out! It shipped from hourglass already but I’d have it a lot sooner if I would have got it off Sephora lol but I thought it wasn’t going to be available on Sephora til the 25th... oh well I’m excited I’ve been wanting a more red tone bronzer! I have the blush quad and unlocked in ghost packaging but the sculpture palette was different from unlocked so I had to get it! Love hourglass face powders!! Great review! 💜

I’ve always wanted one of these palettes but could never bite the bullet due to the steep cost and the fact that I have so many blushes. They are so beautiful though, Hourglass definitely knows how to do powders.

Ended up picking up the 6 pan. I love the formula! I don’t own any other powders of theirs so for me it was a great deal to be able to try various powders without breaking the bank too much. Thank goodness the bronzer showed up on my skin tone (med-tan).
I loved seeing the comparisons! I will treat myself to the 6 pan palette this year. I considered it last year but I just didn't like the Ghost packaging. The 2020 packaging looks high-quality and more in line with a holiday release.
I have three of the hourglass palettes and I use them everyday! I've even hit pan! Love diffused light and the blushes. :)

I love that HG releases quality palettes and do love the packaging changes for this. Oddly enough people generally focus on the inadequacies for their palettes for deep skin tones, but with the unlocked that was pretty well too deep for me (many of the shades anyway) - so it does got both ways when considering quite pale folks! I feel like they tailor most to light skin tones, maybe some medium too and some pale for some products but truthfully they just seem to be a bit more exclusive. It isn't something that overly bothers me, because I feel like most other industries don't deal with this same controversy over inclusivity. Like if a clothing brand doesn't make my size, I don't chastise them I just shop elsewhere (very unpopular opinion I know - and there is a lot of makeup not light enough for me so I'm not just saying this as someone who has most things work for me lol).

I want both. I’m an nc45 in Mac foundation, while some of those may not on my skin tone I find a way to use them in other areas of the face. Great video.
I’m really interested in the mini unlocked! I’m just pretty fair and i’m not sure if the finishing powder/highlighter will be good for me! any thoughts?
What would you suggest if you don’t have any Hourglass quads, etc? I do have a mini of Dim Light bronzer, but that’s it. I usually use Mercier translucent powder and Secret Brightening Powder along with her highlighter.

Will the lipsticks be available at sephora? I'm seeing the palette but not the lipsticks.
I feel like these are so repetitive every year so I have never purchased one. They are so expensive in $AUD too. I recently purchased the blush Sublime Flush, which was a special shade out of one of the holiday collections last year and I paid$64AUD for 4.2grams full size. And it's beautiful and so glad I got full size just that one colour. Whereas the pans are 1.4g each and I think it too expensive for the holiday collection. So the quad you get 5.6 grams of product but here I would pay $95AUD.

I have (& love) both Ghost & the Ghost blush quad. I’m very happy that I got those last year- you were so helpful then too. Good to see the comparison.
I like having Dim & Diffused Light beside each other as I combine for a finishing powder. Dim Light also combines with the bronzer to tone it down for my very pale skin. That might help others who are super pale like me.
The blushes I combine often too. Serious dents in all. The Brilliant Nude blush in the Ghostquad is permanent and the one I thought I’d hate, but I am considering buying it full size when I burn through that shade.
I am strongly considering both the quad and the 6 pan. That way I don’t have to buy full sizes of Dim & Diffused (😂justifications,) plus I get another good bronzer & great blushes. I left my Instagram name on my previous comment.

I wish hourglass would care about make a more inclusive range as much as they care about animals. It's unfortunate that there is not a dark or deep dark version. Come on hourglass it's 2020 share your wonderful formula with more people!
Every year I want to buy their holiday palette and I will watch 1000 videos about it but it's just soooo expensive so I end up not buying it. Then, I will regret it all year long lol.

The lipstick packaging reminds me of the Fenty from the top. The lipstick looks so good on you! I wish they just made a deeper color this year instead of the same color @niiiiiiidbaaaa
Unfortunately I think brands won't listen unless we stop purchasing products that don't come in diverse ranges. Simply asking for it isn't going to motivate them enough because we're still handing them our money. It will cost them more money to make more shades. They're not going to spend that money if their revenue hasn't been impacted. :(
