Thanks so very much for posting.. The more Barney Kessel the better !!!
Hi Shiva!!
Thanks for watching!! :) We love Barney and definitely will be posting more. Lol we often debate if he's the greatest. Such an awesome musical personality, amazing tone, blistering chops... the best.
-Matt
This is insanely beautiful.
Hi vecernicek2!! Isn't barney one of a kind? This piece is extremely beautiful. Such an amazing player and amazing rendition.
-Matt
@@LetsTranscribe I remember reading about Barney in a book before ever hearing him play (you know the olden times before youtube, mid 90s maybe). I had a storong feeling I was going to like him just based on what I read about him. Rushed to buy some records of his. I bought one of the Poll Winners albums and was hooked up ever since.
@@vecernicek2
Really, do you remember what book? Would be cool to know. I definitely know what you mean - a profile about Barney would be something like "Best jazz player you've ever heard that could double as your best friend." Haha. Seemed like such a genuine, nice guy.
And the Poll Winners!! What an introduction. These albums are unreal, and Barney has definitely reached the character that would define his playing. Intensely technical single line soloing and unrivaled chord melodies.
-Matt
@@LetsTranscribe It was a some kind of encyclopedia of guitar players translated into Czech. I probably borrowed the book years ago and it never returned to me. I remember it very vaguely now but it said something about his intriguing lush chords combined with lively rhythms and bluesy feel. And also his sense of humor which translated into his playing. The descriptions of the styles of various players was actually quite fitting. The book also hooked me on Tal Farlow and Wes Montgomery.
Ridiculously good.
Hi Anders!!
I totally agree with you. Barney or Joe? The debate will rage on for centuries to come... Haha.
But in all seriousness, Barney is such a phenomenal musician. He really had it all going for him.
-Matt
Beautiful stand alone Piece TY
you' re picking the best of the best
Hi Fabrizio V!!
Thank you!! :) Barney has such a wealth of work that is untouched. Makes them easy to pick.
-Matt
I know its my skill issue, but this song is so damn hard... it would take me a whole year to learn just this song.
Thank you very much...
Hi Tam Nguyen Thanh!

Exquisita obra maestros gran interpretacion
Hi Siglo 21!!
Uno de los mejores. La interpretación de barney es perfecta.
Gracias por ver!!! :)
-Matt
The chromatic contrary motion in the melody in the bridge was OK once but three times was less tasteful. Some interesting reharmonisations
Hi Mark!!
I definitely understand your point, though in my mind Barney can almost do no wrong haha. I love his playing, he's probably my personal favorite. His tone, chordal knowledge, and sheer virtuosity are untouchable. Absolute genius.
Definitely some interesting reharmonizations, I agree!!
Thanks for listening, buddy!
-Matt
