      @DS Our monarch has not held political power since the 17th century, we are a constitutional monarchy. I don't care whether your president is the most powerful man in the world. The love and respect shown to the Queen now is beyond any American's respect for any former president. Would Americans have queued like we have done for the lying in state of a former president? I doubt it. Don't get me wrong. I am one of the most strongest supporters for our American allies and cousins. Also, please remember who it was on the day after 9/11 ordered the American National Anthem to be played in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace - the Queen. She ordered that moment, which has never happened before or since, because we love our American cousins, and wanted to pay respect in their time of mourning. So much for "this woman you call Queen".

      @DS I think you've completey misunderstood what the British monarchs role is. To compare her to a president is bizarre when one is elected and has power in a country as opposed to the other who is unelected, holds no power other than soft power and symbolism which she has in abundance. The UK has a prime minister who is elected and runs the country, not the Queen. They also have more power than her like your president. The Queen has affected peoples lives around the world, there are also plenty of people whose lives she has not touched and are not remotely interested in what's been happening the last week but for those that she has, this is a big moment. One that won't happen again any time soon and I can't think of a single other person, the president included who has been so highly regarded globally, and amongst leaders for such a long time. Nothing else has been such a constant in our lives.

    I feel like even though the royal family is mourning that it is nice to see that they are also human and not some unfeeling, uncaring entity that has no remorse. King Charles can clearly be seen crying like any person would do at losing someone. I think it will make him more endearing to his people.

    Yes holding vigil for their mother. Why is it interesting to you to have their backs to their mother ? If they were facing their mother they would not by standing guard now would they? Its not rocket science! 🤔

    • @johnking5174
      @johnking5174 Год назад

      They are acting as guards of their mother's coffin. Guards tend to face forward to protect anything coming towards the person they are guarding. A body guard doesn't stand with themselves facing the person they are protecting after all.
