Trump was not invited. Sticky fingers...
I am British, I have to say CBS have surprised me and impressed me a lot. Well done for not talking over the vigil of the queen's children. I thought the anchors would talk all the way through. I am very impressed with the respect and dignity offered here from CBS. Well Done and Thank you from a British viewer here.
Yes. I was afraid they would blabber the same nonsense over and over the whole 15 minutes. I am so glad they didn't.
Rip Your Majesty!! I still can’t believe she’s gone!! 👸🏻🕊🇬🇧
@DS Our monarch has not held political power since the 17th century, we are a constitutional monarchy. I don't care whether your president is the most powerful man in the world. The love and respect shown to the Queen now is beyond any American's respect for any former president. Would Americans have queued like we have done for the lying in state of a former president? I doubt it. Don't get me wrong. I am one of the most strongest supporters for our American allies and cousins. Also, please remember who it was on the day after 9/11 ordered the American National Anthem to be played in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace - the Queen. She ordered that moment, which has never happened before or since, because we love our American cousins, and wanted to pay respect in their time of mourning. So much for "this woman you call Queen".
@DS I think you've completey misunderstood what the British monarchs role is. To compare her to a president is bizarre when one is elected and has power in a country as opposed to the other who is unelected, holds no power other than soft power and symbolism which she has in abundance. The UK has a prime minister who is elected and runs the country, not the Queen. They also have more power than her like your president. The Queen has affected peoples lives around the world, there are also plenty of people whose lives she has not touched and are not remotely interested in what's been happening the last week but for those that she has, this is a big moment. One that won't happen again any time soon and I can't think of a single other person, the president included who has been so highly regarded globally, and amongst leaders for such a long time. Nothing else has been such a constant in our lives.
@DS then why make a segment of report on her funeral?
This just breaks my heart. 4 kids saying goodbye to their mother. Regardless of how old you are, it's always hard to say goodbye to a parent for the last time.
I lost my parents when I was 11 years... When you say kids you mean the KING and his siblings?
Kids that have grand children savelelwa anisixolele 😠😠😠
They should take a momentous picture while visiting.
@@siyahdube3127 We all handle grief differently. Yours at a young age would be unimaginable. Nevertheless let us honor their grief as well, as the Queen is like a glue to their family that keeps them together for so many decades. They probably feel loss in different ways. I imagine this like losing a husband or wife, you either lose them at an early time in marriage or in old age, you will be broken either way. May we all find peace and comfort in our grief. God bless you.
Especially difficult with the eyes of the world watching.

I’m an American, son of a Portuguese born mother and a French born father. I have no use for any monarchy, but Queen Elizabeth was special. Her love of country, duty and her people is inspiring and needs to be acknowledged and respected. It’s so repulsive to read the comments from hateful people wishing her pain in death. They are vile and disgusting!!! God bless the Queen….
God save Burger King 🤣
With a thousand years of tradition for this kind of event, why are people surprised at the Queen's subjects would stand in a line for more than 24 hours? It's the Traditions of Pomp and Circumstance that makes the British Monarchy so attractive to the rest of the world...
People don't have manners these days let alone knowledge of Royal protocol
@@958298bordeaux I agree! I was appalled at Jimmy Kimmel’s lack of respect on his show night before last trying to make a joke of the British people waiting to “see a box holding the Queen’s body” it made me so angry, I can’t stand him 😡
@@naomisgram1 Jeez, what a dumb thing to say. Gotta say I can't stand him either, even before that, so I'm not surprised. I'm American too and can understand why people would wait as long as they had to to pay their respects to their Queen. I'm glad I have seen plenty of other Americans understand that too though.
@@LadyBeyondTheWall yes, I think it’s hard for us to understand here. There is so much tradition there going back centuries and she was reigning Queen for so long. I think we forget a lot of the good things the family does that we don’t hear about, all the visiting and giving to the poor and needy, etc.
Poor man hasn't had a moment to himself since his mother died.
I know -, it’s chilling the effect this must have on his mental health . His grief in public display to millions constantly virtually. Terrible , brutal.
Say what you want about the monarchy, but as an American person of color, I find it deeply moving that the king and siblings would show such a gracious display in front of the public eye. The Monarchy has certainly earned points in my book. Long live the king.
Reporter mentioned they had their backs to the coffin:(
Represents honor courage. This is a visual scene worldwide.
King and siblings show there grief!
They shar and show their feelings. So humbling sincere and openness I love it.
Iv heard some ridiculous inaccurate statements, on the US coverage. One said Churchills funeral was at Westminster and she was corrected on live on air by a British historian reporter who said the funeral was actually at St Paul's Cathedral. This does not suprise me. They need to do their research, how embarrassing for them 😳
US coverage is always minus of facts and their lack of knowledge about World history and customs is astounding.
@@claralou9118 By decree of Queen Elizabeth II, his body lay in state at Westminster Hall for three days from 26 January. On 30 January, the order of funeral was held at St Paul's Cathedral.

They are there to honor and GUARD thier mother. They can not do that with thier backs facing the crowd!
This broadcaster was very good in his reporting. Thank you.💕

The tradition to admire...!!!
I hope these traditions are never lost, so beautiful

I can’t imagine how very hard King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward must keep their tears and feelings on the situation like that 🥹🥹. RIP Ma‘am🙏❤️
Reality check: Charles don't give a s***. He was a snake lying in wait.
@exhumed0006 Wow. Do you know what he is feeling? If you look, he is trying not to cry.
I caught myself holding my breath through the whole procession! So real a moment, and a beautiful new tradition. While it's an honor to have this moment shared with us, I'm sad they feel they HAVE to share this moment with us. May God be with you in your times of grief.
Some of us are celebrating 🍾
They’ve had private time with the he Queen at Buckingham Palace as HMQ coffin was there for one night, this was done to honour the Queen
You have to Admire the tradition.

I think the tradition is nonsense, so I don’t admire it at all.
@sanny A it's Tradition, one that has been passed down for centuries. One thats respected and cherished. What do we have in the states? Divisiveness, cruelty and absolute mayhem.
There is a line stretching 5 miles & it's taking people upwards of 12 hours to pay tribute. Imagine the ridiculousness that would happen in The states?
This monarchy isn't perfect but the traditions passed down and maintained during the time of tiktok & RUclips, is to be admired.

With their backs to the Queen. Yes, that is the way vigils are kept. I do wish presenters would do some research so they would know what they're talking about.
100% agreed. Her ignorance was a bit insulting. It is a vigil for their Commander in Chief as well…
Many countries either don't know the protocol or give the wrong information. Obviously they face forward to protect.
Respects and condolences.
The sight and the occasion - stirring, unbelievable unforgettable…
What a moving experience for everyone around the world at this time. Queen Elizabeth was an amazing person...May God grant you a daughter as loving and caring as Princess Anne!!
I’m so touched what an example of dedication not only to their mother the queen but to all the people they represent.
We need to bring back some of our wonderful beautiful traditions and not rush through these times and ceremonies and processions. We must just appreciate life, each other and honor and respect each other:)

What a great nation
Yeah we're a great nation - £billionaire new king Charles III will inherit the Queen's multi billion £ fortune. Every other UK citizen has to pay death duty over a certain amount - EXCEPT the monarchy who are exempt. Charley just saved a cool £200 million.
No, he will not be donating it to homeless shelters, blind charities, kids cancer charities etc. He will be stowing it away with his other £billions.
Oh, and not to mention paedophile sex trafficker Prince Andy....yep, fine examples of a great nation...

I never knew much about her sister but I think she’s an amazing woman and she was blessed to have a sister ups and downs but still so so close
Are you talking about her Daughter, Anne, who was there standing vigil? The Queen's sister Margaret died 20 years ago. Either way, both Anne and Margaret are/were amazing women for sure.
Princess Anne is arguably the most humble human. She works tirelessly, doing hundreds of engagements every year, patron to many, many charities, and never seeks the limelight. She’s everything a modern Royal should be: she serves and expects no fan fair.
@@amyw6808 And she's so straightforward.. The few interviews I've seen with her were great. She cracks some jokes with a straight face (she reminds me of Prince Philip, in a good way, lol) but you can tell she's incredibly serious about her job/life/duties.
The CBS banner is too big on the screen, take it down
If you could view the Queen , I could understand waiting for so long , but I can give my prayers and thoughts from where I am. God bless the Queen. 🙏👸
That’s the same thing I was saying. All they’re doing is walking pass a casket draped with a flag and wreath and crown at the top. What exactly is the point of this? For all they know, the Queen’s body may not even be there.
I would much better remember her as the small lady. I saw with scarf and glasses peering over the steering wheel crossing the road at Sandringham. Or letting her dogs out from the car in Windsor Great park.
@@sannya6390 The point is people want their last opportunity to pay their final respect to the late Queen in person. This is as close as the public will get to the coffin to pay their respects. She obviously meant a lot to a lot of people and it is worth it to them to wait in line and be a few feet away. By your logic, if there was a closed casket service of a loved one or someone that meant a lot to you, you wouldn't go because you couldn't see their face. Smh 🙄
@@dianad3080 ok, if that’s how you view it then that’s your business, but I will not stand in a line for hours just to simply walk pass a coffin in order to “pay my respects”. Nope, not happening.

I feel like even though the royal family is mourning that it is nice to see that they are also human and not some unfeeling, uncaring entity that has no remorse. They are keeping a VIGIL as in to keep WATCH. It's no good keeping a watch if they are facing HM Elizabeth's coffin. They have their backs to the coffin to keep a vigil to keep watch on the crowd.

How long was the vigil? Just long enough for pictures? I don’t get it.

15 minutes. Standard guard shift. Every 15 there’s a rotation.
Gosh, these commentators are so stupid. Of course they would have their back to her! Do journalist (which is a joke to even call them that) ever do any research at all?!?!?
This is a news feed that is aimed partially at the United States audience. And the commentators often ask the questions that they believe their viewers might be asking.
The commentator asked the question so it could be explained to the American audience.
This is a prime example of why I watched the UK coverage of the Queen's passing: American media heads TALK TOO MUCH.
I wanna know who's organizing all this, kudos to the many working behind the scenes
The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II has been layed down on paper for a long time, been adjusted, rehearsed in case she dies. So now the time has come everyone and every stage was prepared.
Well done Charles letting Harry wear uniform.. That was important ❤️🏴
This would be the top historic commentary moments
Yes holding vigil for their mother. Why is it interesting to you to have their backs to their mother ? If they were facing their mother they would not by standing guard now would they? Its not rocket science! 🤔
They are acting as guards of their mother's coffin. Guards tend to face forward to protect anything coming towards the person they are guarding. A body guard doesn't stand with themselves facing the person they are protecting after all.
