    One of the most clear an concise Marathon fueling tips videos out there especially the arm sleeve tip. Please do one for Marathon hydration. Best of luck in the London Marathon 👍 🏃‍♂️

      Thanks! Will do although the hydration plan is simply to drink to thirst. Not much more I can add there.

    I've been training for Amsterdam Marathon for the last 12+ weeks, I've been practicing with Maurten gels and drink mix. This was super handy and reassuring haha. Great vid!

    That’s really helpful, specially the split intake. I have just started to test the Maurten gels and they sit well. Thanks for sharing.

    Just finished my summer marathon yesterday, 3:47:17. I dropped one of my gels after mile 16 and only had one left. It completely demoralized me for a bit and all I was able to focus on was whether to fuel at mile 20 or 24. I opted to fuel at mile 21 and then eat an apple sauce packet at mile 25. It impacted my run for sure. I was going strong for a 3:45 but missed it cause mile 25 my stomach reacted to the apple sauce and spit it up hitting 26. But now I know to carry extra!
    I’m doing the Little Rock marathon in March and going for 3:38:30.

      Ahhh man Joshua, I know the feeling and its like a stampede to even think about going back to get it! Glad you finished and managed to focus on and more importantly, what to do different next time. Everyday is a school day!

    Good video Amrit, this video came at the right time, I did a marathon in the weekend, went awesome, got a new Pb by 5min came first in my age group, I had one jel at the start after warming up, then one jel every half hour, thanks Amrit 🥳👊🏼🌿🍀👍🏼👣😀

    I think Maurten nailed the consistency of their gel. They’re not too GU and not too Science In Sports. They’re perfectly in the middle. I think the same goes for their approach in the flavor or lack there of. Just a light sweetness.

    Great video. Loved your insight on when to take in and the importance of each gel. I did my marathon in April of this last year and had a gel fall out at mile 5. Luckily I brought an extra just in case and I definitely needed it. However I did feel like I can not handle more than 4 gels because they sit in my stomach like a rock, do you think I need to try new gels or just need to work on my fueling? ( I use Martuens and Huma)

    • @AmritpalGhatora
      @AmritpalGhatora  2 года назад

      I really try not to mix gels as it upsets my stomach and more than anything if it works okay, don’t change.

      @@AmritpalGhatora ok, that makes alot of sense, I like the Huma because they are flavored and have more electrolytes so I guess I will just stick with those. Thanks for the insight though very helpful

    What about wearing a running vest? I've been using one of these on my longer training runs and was hoping to use it to carry my gels, phone etc on race day.

      No not for me! Too much chafing and bouncing

      @@AmritpalGhatora Yeah true if wearing a regular running vest like you do, less so with a t-shirt.

    Do you ever see anyone carrying a bottle with 320 on the course then filling up with water and another 320 at a water station instead of using gels?

    • @AmritpalGhatora

      Sometimes you see the odd person carrying it but that often
