      akshually, the waistline is slightly above the belly button. and akshually clothes are meant to fit AT the waistline. ppl started making clothing that fits below the waistline cause of fashion

    The word “fake” in the garment industry lost all meaning once the replicas became higher quality than the authentic ones. Everyone who is seething and fighting in the comments is either extremely uneducated or just bitter resellers.

      @GOLDFiSH86-o8rI know expensive brands does sounds dumb, but just because it's dumb that doesn't mean you should buy fakes. I learned at school once that you should respect a brand. Even if I remember correctly, my country have this kind of "guidelines" and one of them is to respect a brand. It's not about the prices, it's about your dignity. Also my advice, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of alternatives if you couldn't afford it.

    • @avgonyma1
      @avgonyma1 Month ago +3

      Yup. There was a documentary a few years ago, about luxurious Italian brands, and how their leather (bags) and fur items get produced. Also, how foreign workers in Italy work all day long, like slaves, for low payment and even getting injured at work because the employer doesn't want to spend zero on basic safety. (Better yet: removed a safety fence, to maje workers faster and squeezing in another 40mins of efficiency per day, as a consequence a workers hand was cut off in accident)

      @ayuanandadream yep you're getting the same exact piece of clothing except before it's got to the branding stage, it really is mind-blowing compared to what we are getting for the prices in the US/Uk and other places. The brands are literally ripping people off massively.

      True that. When I was a teenager working at a restaurant, I would save my money just to buy designer. 10 years later, I'm now a bit financially secure and I don't give a damn buying designer. I've lived all over Asia and you'd realize it's stupid as nobody cares if you're wearing designer. Better ways to spend money.

      For anyone wondering, they went to the Guangzhou U:US (广州UUS国际时装城) wholesale market in Guangzhou. Huimei International Garment City (汇美国际服装城) is also a nice market btw. The official name of the fabric market is Guangzhou International Textile City (广州国际轻纺城), although some people refer to it as Zhongda Fabric Market. The Chinese names can make it easier to find the markets.

    中国工厂不仅负责生产还负责设计,也就是说某些时尚品牌并不参与某件商品的设计工作,因为这需要对制作工艺和材料有充分的了解。那些时尚品牌通常不了解制作的细节部分,他们只是给出整体的时尚风格标准,然后交给工厂设计和生产。

      @usernametaken3098buying clothes online is just a recipe for disaster, especially on unbranded stuff like this, I just don't like not knowing how the fabric feels, how it looks on me. And whether the color is really like in picture.

    There are many such shopping malls nearby, and it might take you half a month to finish visiting them all. Also, there’s a saying about clothing: Guangzhou leads the way for summer wear, while Hangzhou takes the spotlight for winter wear. That’s why Hangzhou is also home to several top-tier shopping malls as well.

      Jackets are supposed to be cropped at the waist for functional mobility. Coats are meant to cover your waist for functional cold resistance.

    it's so interesting the preconceived notion that China only makes low quality items when a good amount of the things people buy from brands come from China. People have also been saying for years that when it comes to certain brands you are only paying for the name and nothing else.

    • @Rivercottageveg
      @Rivercottageveg 2 months ago +11

      Its only low quality bc greedy importers will only buy the cheapest stuff for the non premium sector. Those that get the nicer materials made in china wont tell u that they were from there.

    • @YonduGaming-qm9hv
      @YonduGaming-qm9hv 2 months ago +7

      @Rivercottagevegthey will label it in Italy and now that jacket is made in italy

    • @Seb2900-uq8wq
      @Seb2900-uq8wq 2 months ago +1

      @YonduGaming-qm9hv
      That would be fraud. And it’s exceptionally hard to get away with on a bigger scale. So no, they can’t just label something “made in Italy,” if it’s not. By EU law the last substantial transformation has to be in the EU (understood as at least 50% of the value of a good), or by Italian law, all end stage production must be in Italy, assembling, sewing, etc. Faking tax papers and import documents could put you in jail for years, since you would also have to defraud the state for tax income.

    Great video showing the behind-the-scenes of many brands! It is important to note that many of these same pieces cost more in the west due to the price to ship and import it, and then to pay the employees of the western company that sells it to you. If you can go straight to the source, great! If not, just know that there's a lot more than the cost of the product itself wrapped up in the final price you pay.
