This was so helpful to watch as I’ve been wanting to embark on a long term Dickens project! I am debating on reading them in publication order or randomly. The most funny part of this video was the discussion of The Old Curiosity Shop and “Weirdly, I might want to reread it.” 😂 I was totally wanting to skip this one until that last comment!
Ha! As I was talking, I just knew everything I was saying was actually an enticement to read it rather than the argument to stay away I was intending. I even kind of convinced myself to give it another go. 😂
Love this wrap-up! I love Dickens, but realized I've only read 5 or so and only about 1 per year. This helps prioritize the next ones. Also loved the film version of Bleak House with Gillian Anderson. (Wives and Daughters is essentially a complete book. I can't imagine that she had more than a single chapter left in mind and told friends how it would end. )

Thanks! Which Dickens do you think you’ll pick up next?
