Don’t eat or drink anything and you won’t have to go. On my last trip on the bus l left at 2 and didn’t have to pee until 7:30. It works! I know it’s hard but l rather not eat or drink anything then to have to hold it. I didn’t eat anything all day until 5:00 PM. I am the kind of person that goes about 15 times a day and l don’t drink a lot of water like l should.

My mother had this problem and was told by a doctor how to fix it. She told me if you don't empty your bladder you can get recurring infections, which had been happening with her. She said when you are on the toilet and think you are done, put your hands on the seat and sit on them. It changes your position and lets you empty your bladder. In other words you wee again. I do it now as I had this problem. I would come out of the bathroom with a feeling of still needing. Not any more. Thankyou mum.

This is one part of a very complex puzzle. First and foremost, make sure you're cleared of any infections whether those be STIs/UTIs/bladder. Secondly, your bladder could be completely empty and you still feel the urge to pee: this could be from habitual habits like holding your pee for long periods of time, "just in case" peeing before you leave the house even though you dont really have to go, etc. What happens is, your brain learns those patterns and they get engrained over time. Another reason are pelvic floor muscles that are tight and pushing on the bladder which could cause a false sense of urgency; a pelvic floor physical therapist (make sure they are specifically trained in pelvic floor dysfunction) can help you work on this. Your breathing patterns/compensations also play a part. And finally, consuming things like bladder irritants so coffee, tea (decaf and non caffeinated), sugar, sugar substitutes, citrus, spicy food, alcohol, carbonated drinks, chocolate...I'm probably missing a few but there are a bunch...that can all play a part.
Also, please stop spreading misinformation like this happening in older people because I have had clients as young as 14 where they are experiencing things like this. Perpetuating the idea that this happens in older people increases shame and prevents women and young girls from seeking help early.

I've been taking Quercetin, beta-sisterol, vit c and d, zinc, and eating lots of cruciferous foods, Elinated coffee, (drinking 4 or 5 cups a day for 15 years) red meat, diary, and soy. Watch your sugar intake and carbs intake, not good. I'm also taking stinging nettle root extract as its suppose to help lessen the conversion of testosterone to estrogens. Within 3 weeks I see much improvement with frequency and no more burning sensation while urinating. No more straining and feeling like I have to go again as soon as i just went! I just don't know if it's from the meloxicam the urologist prescribed. Also walking and stretching really helps manage the symptoms. There are a lot of factors to it. I've read on it for a month straight from Dr Bergs videos, medications, to new PAE treatment for bph. Hang in there and don't let it bring you down!

When I was a little girl (2nd grade), I had severe bladder control issues so bad that I had to see a pediatric urologist. After a battery of tests, including a cystoscopy, they found that my issues could be resolved by retraining and using a medical graduate "hat" for measurements. The specialist put me on medication for a few months, and eventually, everything worked itself out. In total, it took about a year for things to become "normal" for me.
Now, I am in my mid-50s and back in the same situation. I do pelvic muscle exercises, watch what I eat and drink, and I don't drink fluids after 7 p.m. at night except for taking medicine. I have good days and not-so-good days, but all in all, my issue is manageable.

I’m a guy and have an enlarged prostate, (BPH) and frequent urination is one of the symptoms. Failure to fully empty the bladder is also a problem. Here is a simple technique that allows you to empty the remaining urine in your bladder. Press on your belly like he says and if you feel the urge, then do the following. Raise both arms over your head as far as you can. Then start counting slowly. By the time you reach 20:or 30, you will feel the urge to pee again and the remainder will come out. It sounds crazy but it works every time for me.

Steven Meza You're not alone. I've been having to go literally every 20 min the past several days. I'm seeing my doctor early next week - she messaged me tonight that it might be a UTI. We men get them too. When our bodies do things that are bothersome as hell, all we can do is let go of what we can't control and follow doctor's orders. Your situation and mine - whatever the cause - will have a remedy. Hang in there. 😊

    • @jaimegasca9556
      @jaimegasca9556 7 лет назад +34

Steven Meza have you tried switching to just water as your drink? I noticed cutting out every drink but water, and cutting out sour cream, barbecue sauce, ranch sauce, ketchup, and anything with chili powder on such as hotcheetos etc and cutting out every desert has helped. I still pee a lot, but definitely far less
BTW I also keep a little camping toilet bowl by my bed so I don't have to keep walking out my room every two minutes to go pee.
Btw you should try flaxseed and pumpkin seeds. I have yet to try them, but I heard they can help too

Im in my late 20s also & its annoying to have to pee so often especially after youve just gone and its been less than an hour. Early as I can remember around 8-9 I remember needing to go to the bathroom soon after I just went. Its not bad on some days but ive just been trying to limit how much water I drink also but that urge is still there. Feel like I might just need to wear some adult diapers just for safety. I remember one day is highschool I did something just so I would get kicked out of class so I could go to the bathroom & I feel bad about it to this day.

And yes Randy it's very annoying to pee a lot ohh I know the feeling . I noticed cutting out certain foods and every drink but water has helped me about 75 percent. I no longer drink anything but water. There's lists of foods to avoid for overactive bladder on the Internet so I'd check that out . Top things that make me pee a lot are hotcheetos, sour cream, hot chicken wings, anything and everything spicy, mayonnaise, pizza, every sauce, and EVERY drink except water.

Sometimes things 'shift' as we lie down, & it may be pressure on the bladder from stool in the intestinal tract, or a uterus prolapsing, etc. It is not uncommon. You might even notice that when you stand up to go to the toilet you don't have the urge to void anymore, or it is much less, then it comes right back when you lie down again.

I have interstitial cystitis...the symptoms are the same as Dr. Oz talks about. I have had this for 40+ years.. I have been lucky and had a wonderful urologist who diagnosis-ed me. I saw him every year. It is the most annoying this to have, especially when I had my knee replacement surgeries....I will go to the BR and then less than 5 minutes later I have to go again. There is not much on the medication front. When I had my knee surgeries, I had to tell the nurses what it was!

tea and coffee are not only diuretics, but caffeine is a bladder irritant. (and when I was taking care of elderly patients who suffered constipation I found a cup of strong coffee got things moving along quite well, bowel wise!) Oddly, for many people, tea can be constipating (black tea).

My friend went to Doctors in 2002 to have pelvic ultra sound. She was told to pee before test which she did in restroom. She then got on table and the ultra sound begin when suddenly, she was told to go back to bathroom because she still had pee left. She asked the technician can you see that. The tech reply was yes I can and my friend say nothing is secret not even your pee... doctors reviewed the test and told T she has a condition called incomplete voiding and that there is no cure. So, T told me how this thing has affect her marriage, her confidence and other things. See for her not only do she have urinary incomplete voiding issues. She also have incomplete bowel voiding as well. She was crying when as she explained it to me! I felt for her and that is the reason for her nasty divorce. She won’t get into another relationship for fear of embarrassment and humiliation she said. Prayers for a miracle in both areas is what she needs so she will no longer be insecure and other things...

There ARE treatments for incomplete voiding. See a urologist, gynecologist, etc. or even just good "incomplete voiding treatments". Not all may work, but some may really help, depending on the cause.

On average I pee about once an hour if I’m just laying around. Found out a few years ago, I have 2 urethras , thats the tube your pee flows through, instead of just one, so now I'm on a medication for an over active bladder and a low dose antibiotic to keep infections at bay. I'm told for the rest of my life. Both medications have helped alot!

He never mentioned any reason for frequent urination, aside from the incomplete urine emptying condition. I have had several pelvic and abdominal ultra-sounds, where you go pee, than get checked immediately after, and i have been told i completely empty my bladder. Yet i still go to the washroom at-least every 30 min, sometimes more often. I have lost jobs because i have to pee so often, and have to change my entire schedule, where i can go and when because of this. So how come he never mentioned any alternative reason? I know there is no urine left behind, and i seem to expel more than i take in. I can go a whole 24 hour period with no fluid intake, and still have to pee at least once or twice an hour.

+NymphetaminexXxGrrrl having the "urge" could be things like Interstitial cystitis, bladder spasms, overactive bladder syndrome, urge incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction... talk to your doctor and perhaps get a referral to a physical therapist for pelvic floor therapy. The PT can help you re-train your bladder (so you can go longer between bathroom breaks) and strengthen the pelvic muscles, soothe out any clenched muscles. Yes, it's weird to have PT for your most personal parts of your body but it makes a BIG difference. I'm going to one for a cystocle (my bladder is sagging), I do kegels and abdominal exercises to strengthen the muscles and perhaps not need surgery. Good luck!

I have the opposite problem, I don't have the go pee feeling. I actually have to remember to go pee. I'm 9 months pregnant and I have to remember to go pee every 2 hours so that I don't get a uti. I'm actually afraid that I sometimes let my bladder fill to much so that my bladder might push the baby's head out of my pelvic and the baby might turn breach.

Hope your problem gets addressed by your doctor. If a person 'holds' urine for hours beyond what is comfortable it is possible the bladder can no longer empty naturally, and the pain will be excruciating......then a catheter must be inserted to provide relief.

If you have to do the "belly pressure test" to empty your bladder and also have "double void test" urinating in small amounts, what does this mean that the prostate and bladder are inflamed or has to much bacteria?
