    Thanks for posting this. It took me down a 'rabbit hole' of researching LaPerouse ... it even got a mention in '20 000 Leagues Under the Sea'!

    Thanks was just down at La Perouse after 4 years not being in oz due to all the mess of covid. Great video as i wanted a refresher on larpa's history as only thing i could recall was that the brits got there earlier than the french but the french said they didnt have orders to colonise oz.

    What happened to La Perouse, left Botany Bay after finding Captain Phillip was already there. La Perouse's two ships were then shipwrecked on the Solomon Islands.

    The French had large ships and were very well equipped and left the First Fleet settlers much needed supplies
    There was a native path between Botany Bay and Port Jackson

      On the south headland from La Perouse is a big wave surf ledge named “Ours” that would have been just fine 🤙🏼
