There's a Finnish way of saying "siltä seisomalta" ("from off of that standing"), which is used like, for example: "Lähdin ostamaan siltä seisomalta", meaning in practise: "I immediately went to buy", literally being translated into: "Off of that standing (activity/"position") I left to purchase." The actively un-thought idea is that one is not starting (to enter/board, as you say) any other activities between being on that standing and leaving for doing the purchase.
Another "ma"-phrase is: "Sillä kellonlyömällä." ("On that exact hour/moment.") Here, the clock/bell is struck and the phrace is considering the situation of being inside the activity of the bell tolling/being struck. "Se tapahtui sillä kellonlyömällä." - "It happened precisely then."

I dont think actually anyone talks like that using infinitive...its weird to hear. Try to find some real examples from tv or YT.
