For Mekaal: man you are one of the greatest artist of all time from Pak. Your music your band everything is beyond excellent. Even you do special kind of heritage music still you didnt get that special recognition in Pak. And its a loss for mentality of Pakistani audience. If there is any music hall of fame. I wish you get that award too. Just keep rocking and don't stop

True Legend, I would suggest one thing, You should have a only music show where you talk and react to all kinds of music with a musician guest. If you can not do this then I guess Mekaal should do it. In this way this generation will be introduced to a lot of our indigenous stuff.
I found Sampooran at a CD sale in a small obscure music shop in the coastal town of Pondicherry in southern India where i live. It was about 20 years ago. I have been a great fan of Mekaal since then. Later, again by chance, i picked up Saptak at another obscure music shop in the neighboring state of Kerala where i hail from. I have introduced many of my music loving friends to MHB. If there is one band i would travel to go hear anywhere in India it would be MHB. That is how much i appreciate their music - so distinguished. This interview was so good. I came to hear Mekaal's music making process. But i was more than surprised and impressed with his views on art, culture, politics and what it means to live an intelligent life. The man is so well informed on current matters. I have not heard any musician here on the subcontinent (or anywhere else for that matter) articulate views that are deep and nuanced. Most artists tend to live in silos separate from the rest of life. Here is someone who uses one to sustain the other seamlessly. Pakistan you have a national treasure in Mekaal 🙌
First time actually listening to MH and loved every moment of it. This was a treat to watch from start to finish, especially for the musicheads, musicians n producers. Huge salute from Canada!
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to the whole podcast with the maestro Mekaal Hasan. I have everlasting memories with him at DFS as I recorded my debut track Hadh there back in 2004 (strictly with no autotune 😄). Sampooran is one of the records that I have listened to the most in my life to the point that it was imprinted in my brain note by note. Lots of love and thanks for this podcast Mooroo ❤

If possible if you could please ask him to release the Kinaray which they did for Khuda Kay Liye and the film's background score as well? Like it's too good to be not in public realm.
The same thing has happened with me at 49.00 see how sir Meekal has described the Beat like it's in 4/8 or 4/7 and just see the Moroo face lol. This is the most difficult thing for me when I learned music theory back in 2011.
