I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inherited portfolio of about $2.5m. I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.
True, I mostly just buy and hold stocks, but my portfolio has been mostly in the red for quite awhile now. Unfortunately to be able to make good gains, you’ll need to be consistent and restructure your portfolio frequently.
In my opinion, it was much easier investing back in the 60s but it’s a lot trickier now, those making consistent profit in these times are professionals reason I’ve been using an advisor for the past 5 years to consistently build my portfolio in preparations for retirement.
My partner’s been considering going the same route, could you share more info please on the advisor that guides you?
Well, there are a few out there who know what they are doing. I tried a few in the past years, but I’ve been with Melissa Terri Swayne for the last five years or so, and her returns have been pretty much amazing.
I greatly appreciate it. I'm fortunate to have come upon your message because investing greatly fascinates me. I'll look Melissa up and send her a message. You've truly motivated me. God's blessings on you.
SPY , IVV hitting the scene so far. These ETF’s doing just fine. Despite fluctuations in capital market ,certain amount of ETF’s do well.
Some people say they don’t mind to hold BABA for 10years to claim the 600+%, Personally I put down 1.3m$ on few ETFs, still diversifying. It was this time last year I made my first million with a liquid 200k. Invested it in a trader here in CA, I get weekly pay out which I invest back on long term ETF's. Google will be a huge buy for me when the market bottoms.
I do the much I can myself, can I work with your mentor?
Yeah, she is Danielle Lee Hamberger, look her up. I have worked with her for many years!
Searched the web and saw her profile and accreditations , some one with great experience I must recommend.
I met her in Australia last year, she agreed to work with me with a comfortable ROI, I honestly feel lucky I met her because she has the knowledge of financial market.
What are the best additions to a $500k portfolio to boost performance? S&P 500 is Up and will do better in 2024 I believe as indicators for profits continue to improve, investors like me believe that “Santa has come early” to the markets.
wow massive gains! my partner recently hinted on going same direction.. what did you invest in, and who is your investment advisor please, if you don’t mind me asking? in dire need of asset allocation
Interested in your perspective on PDD.
Own a small BABA position and debating on building that or opening a PDD position.
I have both. They aren't necessarily competing in the same niche either.
Thanks a lot Paul for the good insight, glad to be on board with Alibaba also on my side. One of the company you covered in the past that I would be delighted to have a fresh input on is CVS health, what do you think about the fall in pharmaceutical stock in recent days?
Hope you do good in Alibaba , are you considering gettin into cvs ? AP
Thanks! Already have a position in CVS since august, at a 72$ stock price average.
@@mrcliffburtonjrmy price for cvs is around $110 bullish side I could see $130-$140. The risk is Amazon pharmacy or something else unexpected but I still believe people want things immediately from retail stores, especially when it comes to healthcare.
Did I miss the 3 price scenarios in this video? Low, middle and high? Only the high was written out but not shown on the screen of the software right?
Our mistake .AP
They probably will report good numbers this quarter. Jan and Feb export numbers were good and add in new years sales which wasn't counted last quarter.
So what’s your opinion about ADR? Yes, it always has been that way but it doesn’t change the risk it comes with it. Would love to know how you think about ADR structure.

Trusting China to honor the current VIE structure for their companies is similar to believing that Russia was going to honor the Budapest agreement. I think that investments are only safe in the free world.
You might be right , investing in other countries free or not has higher risk .AP
I like ur video and good speaker ability 👍👍
I hold Alibaba. Painful couple of years but DCA to $83 now. Will it go down some more? yes but its becoming less painful. Hopefully wont be long before pain turns to pleasure.
We will see my man - GC
It's impossible to properly estimate in which direction the factors that cannot be analyzed on a spreadsheet will swing with China over the next decade. Their demographics issue is unresolvable for at least a generation. Delisting may be nothing, but it's not nothing if potential investors don't invest anyway whether its rational or not. Meanwhile the question of whether China will invade Taiwan will likely come down to how seriously China feels the US will back Taiwan if it attacked. With the building of chip foundries and indecisiveness opposing Russia, the US has been signaling the weakening of its geopolitical commitments. This could easily embolden China into attacking Taiwan. How serious? I don't think anyone could properly place even rough odds on it and I lost my crystal ball. If you can't properly estimate the likelihood of critical matters like this then committing money to the stock is just gambling no matter how cheap the stock nor how good a company's books look. Ultimately, for the stock to continue to flounder, no attack is necessary. All that need happen is for all these issues to continue to paralyze potential investors with fear well into the future regardless of the fundamentals is a failure to resolve them. At that point the stock isn't going anywhere good.
Thanks for offering your view - GC
You're right. I already have a large position in Alibaba on 3 different stock exchanges (US, Europe and Hong Kong) and if it wasn't for the reasons you have mentioned, I would continue to increase it. But having these risks, mostly the Taiwan issue, is too much to continue building on. Maybe only if the price drops more to a ridiculous level. I already had a Russian stock which was sanctioned in the US. I can't sell them at the moment ..... or who knows till when. Maybe never! So yep, sanctions are a risk. However TSMC are building there factory in the US, so that may relieve US fears of China attacking Taiwan.
@@bernfar82 I sold off half my position at a small profit last year, and have been selling far out of the money calls on the remainder.
@@MC-gj8fg Absolutely correct, avoid BABA at all costs for those reasons you mentioned above
I totally agree. TSMC is going nowhere cos China will... wait

I don’t mind to hold BABA for 10years to claim the 600+%. Why not. Keep ave down since first bought at 2022. Buying more gradually at 65-70. Chinese are pretty good businessman!

We just have to be patient, they are doing buybacks 3-5% per year, generating tons of cashflow, time will tell, vested :)
I've exited all Chinese stocks due to high government interference. I did have some gains a few years ago with NIO, BYDDF, and BABA selling near the highs but did not buy back in. I prefer long term positions, but too much uncertainty in China.
Geopolitical reasons have had a tremendous impact on the stock price. I agree that it is undervalued. But the situation between the US and China is not getting better anytime soon. I could be wrong. It looks like a great value and I agree with what you have said, but the geopolitical situation is not stable and that prevents me from investing in Alibaba
It is "Yuan", pronounced "You-an", or RMB, pronounced "Re-min-bi". Love the video, but I see this as a common error so it is the least I can do for all the good you guys do. Nonetheless, great video.
I hope I am not offending you guys.
I have dacad baba since $80. my cost basis is down to $74 and I’m still buying more. It has stayed low so long and I have bought so much that I worry about overexposure. That balance sheet, the buybacks, and the insider buying keeps me going. You just can’t say no to that value
Correct....focus on fundamentals and stay the course.
Thanks for sharing - GC
Just can't say no? Sure you can. Imagine what returns that money you could have put in elsewhere could have done in Meta... Nvidia... SFM... Negative momentum can go on for a LONG time. Meanwhile, you miss out on other great opportunities.

Charlie munger died giving up on BaBA?
🤦♂️
My personal opinion is Munger never gave up on BABA. He always believed in it and that's why he bought it. He says it is his worst investment and his biggest regret because he bought it at the wrong time. His investment plummeted.
🤣 🤣
Great video, everyone giving you crap because it isn't the flavor of the month. This is EXACTLY when you're supposed to buy a stock, when it's ugly and no one wants it. People calling for $50 or lower are delusional. That only happens with a black swan event which no one can predict. I'm in and have been since $100 and lower
I so hope it will plummit more. Long in this one...

Can you guys do an update on IRobot?

Don't understand why your Enterprise value for BABA shows $190 Billion when in reality they have cash surplus (after all debt) of $60 billion. So Enterprise value should actually be around $110-120 billion. I have seen this in couple of your other videos as well.
I own it also but its long term turn around play for me 💪✅🥇🦅💎🤫

Ive been buying this under $70. They are buying shares back aggressively and growing. The china problems will smooth out imo.
Any thoughts on Baidu? Hasn't been discussed in a long while 🙏

I agree.. Baidu is criminally undervalued. More than BABA. They are doing a lot in AI and their PE is extremely low.

Why is free cash flow better if it’s higher than net income?
During hard times they can use the ready to use free cash flow to soften economic hardships
As good as Alibaba's books are, investing in this company is a huge gamble due to the tension between them and the US. I feel %100 more comfortable investing in TSLA even with the rough patch is going through. The US is by far the biggest consumer of alibaba products. What happens to that balance sheet if the two countries go to war. Cut in half.
even PYPL seems to have similar returns with way less risk.
The US is not where the bulk of Alibaba’s revenue though. The main source of revenue is Chinese domestic e-commerce.
If the tensions increase with us then we got bigger fish to fry
BABA major action is outside the US - gc
Run Skyworks?
Thanks for the suggestion - GC
dont forget howerver an delisting is possible
Do I think it's worth more... Sure. Will the fundamentals drive it higher some day. One would think so. But, it's been dead money for almost 4 years due to many variables beyond its control (politics, economy, geopolitical tension). What could that money have done since Oct 2020? A lot. Pabrai knows it's a good company, but per his process, he dumped it. Even in value investing, trends matter... And BABA has been and continues to trend in the wrong direction.
Investments take years to mature....you either have patience or find something else - GC
@EverythingMoney True. But, listen to the greats and cut your losers. BABA has been down for almost 4 years... And with so much of its destiny beyond its control, it may be down another 4. Dead money. There is a reason Pabrai cuts losses after a couple of years... There is a reason Buffet's rule 1 is to never lose money and why he has not gone into BABA. Too much risk. There are safer long-term options out there.
Going against BABA is like betting against China. Did you know the Chinese economy is one of the few in the world without the crazy debt?
Look at the balance sheet USA vs China. The SP realistically is worth at least 150$

Why do you guys consistently put such a high P/E on BABA? 16,16 etc... Its not a high ROIC business, and the growth is not stellar either. China risk premium should be 2X US risk premium, and China P/E's should be constantly at a discount to US P/E's perhaps by as much as 2X. Even then though, I get a "green" buy up to $100 :)
