Master EverDrive X7 with a Wonder(ful) Boy III hack!

Subscribe to Mistah MegaManFan for new content daily! I teased the fact I had the Master EverDrive X7 in my “jailbars” video, but now I’m going to show you something awesome you can do with it. If you want to use a wireless 8BitDo Genesis controller on your Sega Master System, you already know the biggest drawback - the pause button is on THE CONSOLE. That makes a wireless controller pointless, right? WRONG! Using rom hacks and an EverDrive you can make the start button on your 8BitDo Genesis controller the pause button God intended it to be. My neighbour had a Sega Master System when I was younger. I know exactly what you mean about the pause button being on the console itself being a pain in the butt. Still enjoyed playing Asterix and Laser Ghost with him, though.

I installed an RGB bypass setup into my SMS. The kit I bought isn't designed for the model 1 and is designed for the model 2, but it can be retrofit to work and looks amazing! Might be something to look into. I also have pause controller mods for the SMS that allow adding a 3rd button to an SMS or other controller and have a pause added for the console to use.

I will definitely do a bypass if I ever get a second SMS for a good deal (not eBay or PriceCharting prices).

I actually have a modded PAL Master System II that lets me pause with the start button on a Sega Genesis/MD 6 button pad. I can do that with every game on that :)

A friend on Facebook suggested that mod to me, but I’m going to have him do a bypass and a RGB mod instead.
