As much glass as possible! For water, if you can afford it, try a Berkey filter: amzn.to/38F7ctX At least it's metal instead of plastic. It's pricy, so if you use a Brita or similar and have water in plastic, at least make it BPA free. And you can minimize plastic exposure with your food storage: I suggest you store food in reused glass jars or glass tupperware (GlassLock brand is great, I like these assorted sizes: amzn.to/2rOZPzA). It's not about total perfection but just reducing your exposure to plastic, especially cheap plastic, wherever you can. :)
You did a good video and I totally agree with you as far as plastic is concerned, but I would be careful to check out the glass that you’re using. As I have researched, I have found some glass contains lead which is also harmful to your body.
Me too, Mertalia! Glass bottles look so pretty for storing dry goods such as beans, or as a vase for gathering ikebana flowers from nature. Do you have any tricks for getting off sticky labels?
For my water, I reuse glass “everfresh” and “calypso” juice bottles. I also use old milk bottles, they have nice 2quart glass milk bottles at Whole Foods it’s something creamery
Ooh good tips, George! I like the old milk bottles too, neat style. I use them for vases for flowers sometimes. I'll check out Everfresh and Calpyso. As an update - I'm actually not a fan of the BKR water bottle anymore because the silicon got moldy after a couple years, yuck!
Tupperware is a registered trademarked food storage brand. It is NOT a generic term used for food storage containers.
Metal not fine .
