Another thing that can be used is a butter knife to slice the avocado 🥑. I love the idea of separating the yolk from the white so it is less of a mess. Thanks 😊
Hi Laura. An egg tip: Crack them on a flat surface like the kitchen counter = no egg shells inside them. I do the salt over the shoulder too:) Thank you for your awesome, fun and sweet food turtorials.
My best advice is to use a very small non-stick skillet on medium heat. Add your egg and let it sizzle for a minute then add one quarter cup of water to the pan and cover with a small plate or lid. Allow the egg to cook until the water completely steams off and boils away. When you uncover your egg it should be completely White having been cooked by the steam and still runny yolk. I love to add my salt and pepper before I steam them because the pepper colors the egg so well.
That’s exactly how I make it too !! Love that you’re putting this out there ! My dad used to make it so well, yet mine when I first tried almost turned into egg drop soup! Thank you for this video!
My egg poaching technique is almost the same as yours except after the boil, I reduce the water to a light simmering without the vortex. The white holds onto the yolk better and there is less floating around in the water.

I learned something new -cool ...I would usually just get a quarter to half cup water - coffee mug - egg ... then break egg into water in mug ,wrap top of mug with Plastic wrap - microwave 1 minute - spoon out poached egg , season , serve ... experiment with a few seconds here and there for overall result ( watery vs firm ) ... or mug width .

Ms. Laura, Everything looks great. Try one large egg in a small microwave dish for about 60 or 70 seconds. Makes a pretty good poached egg. I lightly oil or butter my dish and add some cheese or bacon bits. Anyway, the eggs don't get rubbery nor explode.
She seems like such a great mother and her husband is one lucky man, and she's so pretty and fit/thin. I don't know, I just like her. I wonder if she'd ever do a house tour, but probably not, she seems too private for that.
