- Hey everyone! This morning, on 9th February 2025, I headed to my local Lidl supermarket to pick up some curry sauces, but as usual, I got sidetracked by their incredible tool section! 🛠️ What started as a quick grocery run turned into a full-blown tool haul, much to the dismay of my wife (she won’t be sending me to the supermarket again anytime soon, haha!).
In this video, I take you on a tour of Lidl’s tool section, showcasing some of the amazing deals and must-have items they have on offer. From power tools to hand tools, I’ll give you a rundown of the prices and quality, so you can decide if it’s worth adding to your own collection.
At the end of the video, I reveal all the tools I ended up buying (spoiler: it’s a lot!). If you’re a DIY enthusiast or just love a good bargain, you won’t want to miss this!

Thanks for the tour & haul from your DIY store. We have a similar type of store called Harbor Freight here in the States. All DIY goods & tools. Everything you can imagine plus professional type of machines, sprayers, carts, etc. Great place to go for budget friendly tools & all sorts of equipment, really affordable for anyone just starting &/or stuff we don't use all the time to have around the house when needed.
Enjoy the new toys, Billy.

This place is actually a food superstore that has a middle isle full of all sorts of stuff like tools, homewares and the like. This tool range although a bit hit or miss on quality seems to have a big following
I was in Lidl yesterday and bought the bench grinder, handy for touching up my turning tools.
The only thing that turned my head this weekend was the biscuit jointer, but I held back - I'd only be buying it so I can say I have one, plus I have a cheap dowel jig which works for anything I'd need.
I'd never bother with the cordless screwdriver - the impact gun does 90% of the screws I need, and if it needs a light touch, I just do it by hand.
The Vac - I've not tried the Parkside one, but I had a Draper which just wasn't all that powerful, so upgraded it to a Titan from Screwfix for £80, which has similar stats to the parkside one, and it works great.
The bit sets with the different colours for the different types are awesome. I got a Draper set years before I saw any parkside one, and it's permanently in my toolbox - Although I've had to replace the ratcheting screwdriver a few times!
Sharpening stations are good, but if you are a beginner (like me) then it would be worth seeing if there are jigs for it. Very easy to do a crap job if you are just eyeing it, plus a lot of the cheaper ones are 1 speed, and sometimes you need a slower speed if it's just a hair you are taking off. As I do woodturning, I treated myself to a Record Power sharpening station with all the turning chisel jigs, but I did get a Parkside (Or it might be Mac from B&Q) grinder, then bought some polishing wheels from amazon, that works a treat.
The inverter welder - Thats priced about the same as other cheap brands - No idea about the quality when using it, but with the warranty, it's a lot easier to return it if something does go wrong.
Safety glasses - As much as I like Lidl, I don't take chances with safety!
Velcro strips are great for tidying cables or corded tools when packing them away
Tool wall - Great buy - I'd recommend making friends with a person with a 3D printer. There are all sorts of holders that they can download and print. I only used 2 of the boxes on my wall for pens/pencils, and printed a load more hooks for the tools I want in grabbing distance - Mostly measuring tools, now I think about it...
The main one to avoid would be the Lathe. If you are ever tempted to do a bit of woodturning, the parkside lathe is rubbish.
Yes I’ve heard some shocking stories about the Parkside lathe, fortunately I’ve got a decent one which I’ll be getting back out.
Yeah, they did a big tool drop on the 2nd and the 9th. I thought it was only the Tap and Die set that I wanted but after looking again at the website, much more stuck out. I got the biscuit jointer as when I tried with the Router, it was not that easy to change.
Thanks for sharing.
I only went in for curry sauce 🤣
Nice haul Billy.
Yes I think I done ok plus hopefully the wife will be happy with her new chisels on Valentine’s Day 👌🤣
The parkside trousers are great double lined so warm when in the shed👍
Haha I believe they are very good… those hats though 🤣🤣
@ no to the hat 😂
@@rodharris2915 deffo.. I wouldn’t be wearing that thing
I've got the Router and the wet and dry vac, had them for several years now. Still going strong.
That’s good to know.. I was going to buy the vac but I had enough in the trolley and the wife was giving me daggers.
I've given the vac loads of abuse. Cleared up water in flood, cleaned out the wood burner, and used in workshop just keeps going.👍
Was going to buy the router but the paralel guide which was metal on previous models has been replaced by a plastic one and there is play in it which is a bad thing. would have been better increasing the price by 2 quid and retaining the metal guide.
Hi Billy, you can't go wrong with curry sauce, curry can go with any thing, curry and pliers or curry and chisels can't go wrong. Those racks and storage bins are brilliant i've got a 144 bins and the racks on my workshop wall, bought mine years ago from B+M bargains.
In all you have had some great bargains there from Lidl, I usually get mine from my local Lidl in the neighbouring village so i don't have to go in to Wrexham.

Nice haul at a very good price. It was great to see what you guys have available. For us in the states Walmart and Harbor Freight would be comparable.

@ Isn’t that how it always happens. Walmart is the same. Go in for groceries and leave with clothes, tools and all kinds of other stuff

Check the squares I bought them a couple of years ago and they were all way out of 90 degrees 🥴
Yes I’ll definitely check them out 👌
