I bought an Lexar 256gb external ssd for faster speed and lots of read/write speeds, so I installed my Raspbian 64-bit lite os on it, and installed Pinecraft on it. I think a video tutorial of how to backup the world file for all the people using micro-SD card with significantly lesser read/write speeds would be helpful. Thanks for the video, it really helped me.

hey diamond master do you think i could install the raspbian on my SD card and run Pinecraft/minecraft server on the external SSD? i just bought a Raspberry Pi4 4GB and have no prior knowledge about raspberry Pi other than it was recommended to use a raspberry Pi to host my sons server
the new look looks interesting. I hope yall start putting out content like yall used to. I miss the information of the old show. Having that info with the new look would be incredible. Looking forward to a new more consistent show. :)

the ./drivedetect portion didn't work for me so I had to do a work-around for it. I had to manually run each step for wipe, create partition and format step. the reason being is because there is a part where it asks you to restart the service somewhere around when you make the changes to the fstab file. the command you'll have to run is: sudo systemctl daemon-reload (it'll tell you what to do or at least it should). it'll ask for your credentials for the server. after that you should restart the raspberry pi then continue with the rest of the steps in the video

Hello, I love how easy it is to setup a Pinecraft and just everything in general. I do have a question though, I plan on setting up a VM on a PC running ubuntu server to upgrade from the Raspi as my friends and I are planning on running quite a few mods on our next server which we already tested on the Raspi, and to be honest it was trying but chugging along. Is it possible to run the Pinecraft configuration on our VM? If so, am I able to configure other things like the GHz on the cores, the ram amount, etc. I know there is quite a lot of stuff configured with the setup which was really convenient which is also why I would love to use it again. Again thank you and amazing work on this!

Hi, I’ve got a feature request which might be handy for the bedrock folks: Are you able to add GeyserMC compatibility to Pinecraft (specifically Paper)? This way people can play via Java and Bedrock. It might require too much processing but its just a suggestion.
I won't since that would require the users to change their DNS settings on their home networks to a third party service provider that I can't vouch for the security of. I love the concept but as a cybersecurity conscious individual I can't rightly implement such a feature. Hopefully one day a new solution will come out that doesn't require the DNS changes.
Running a Raspi4 8GB RAM, can I run resource packs? Like high-res rayx texture packs or has anyone experienced severe lag or quality problems when trying?
After running the drive detect, I copy the command, hit ctrl+c, paste command and nothing runs. What am I doing wrong? The script is able to see my drive but for some reason the command that I copy doenst work. I have even typed out the command to see if for some reason it was pasting weird.
Very unlikely since it would remove my ability to do local testing that is hardware-specific. Support for Docker for such a small project would be a nightmare (since from user to user, device to device, specs and performance would wildly vary). I have plans to add legacy compatibility, but currently Pinecraft Installer is focused on bringing the most current and most stable versions of Minecraft server. Please post your request for 1.12 support in the Github Issue Tracker for Pinecraft Installer and perhaps it'll get a bump if other users agree.

Umount all file systems, and swapoff all swap partitions on this disk. Use the --no-reread flag to suppress this check.

I've used pinecraft to create a fabric server for the new 1.19 update but it is not as performant as the previous 1.18 paper server I ran. Running this server on a 4GB Pi4 as everyone here I'm sure can attest to 8GB Pi-s are impossible to find right now. Side note, if Cat5 would like to donate one I wouldn't say no!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. The script can be very helpful when used with a compatible device, but sadly as it is so young and I have limited devices for testing, sometimes users (like you) find a device that doesn't work out of the box. @@DiamondMaster115 1.18.2 was already released. Just do a git pull to get Pinecraft 3.2, run the installer again, and choose an upgrade install.

It is, yeah. Just git pull, then run Pinecraft Installer again. It'll detect your existing Pinecraft Server and offer an upgrade.

You have to plug it into a windows pc and go to disk management and give it a gpt partition table, or you can do it in linux too
