nah, it was a year of learning, Oner was know for his aggresive picks, now after a year of training he show off his poppy sejuani an rell, this is like the story of faker 2015 all over again, faker was know for his dominance in mid but when the meta shifted for control mages specially azir, they bench him, is not easy to adapt to what ur team and the meta need, but Oner did it, it took him 1 year, but he did it.

Oner just sucks with tank junglers and he only found success with Rell and Poppy, sometimes Vi.. but the patch shifted power back to bruiser champs like Jarvan and Lee Sin.. just check Oner's history.. he plays exceptionally well whenever he plays bruisers.. Lee Sin, Graves, Xin Zhao, Nocturne.. his worst performances comes from Sejuani and Maokai.. even when the two were broken af Oner still can't find success with them.. that's why he would rather not pick either of the two now that they are balanced..

Yet, aside from the JDG series, Faker played worst than BDD and Showmaker on aggregate in the tournament. And 'unironically' if Chovy didn't choke, you could argue Faker is the 4th best mid-laner at this tournament. With Knight being also arguable.
Probably a lot more of Faker's influence is in his leadership nowadays and his ability to shot-call and execute plays than his overall play.

T1 hit their form at the right time. Zeus and Oner played super well all tournament, including the finals. Guma/Keria totally warped the drafts even if they weren't as impactful in game this series as the rest of knock outs. And Faker is just the GOAT whose impact for this team can't be quantified

i mean, i cant imagine a more happy team than t1 after geng was eliminated xD, facing Gen G in finals was a horror movie for then, T1 vs geng looks a lot like game 2, but Geng have the discipline to never engage with that comp and just let t1 to root and force.
Doran and Peanut just nullify their counterparts well. But I think this version of Zeus and Oner would give GenG problems as well, especially with how they're drafting since the LNG series. Also it should be clear to them now but permaban Delight's Rakan.

I mean it was very obvious it would be a blow out. I've been saying the entire week leading up to the finals that TheShy is literally the only human being on Weibo. Weiwei is decent, very inconsistent. Xiaohu, formerly RNG, is a notorious international choker. I knew he would be invisible this series. And lastly Weibo's bot lane is just so insanely boosted it is not even funny. So you have a potentially competitive Top lane matchup, a potentially competitive JG matchup, a mid matchup that is going to favor Faker, and a bot lane matchup that is so disgustingly favored for T1 so much so that Weibo drafts Senna TK in Game 1 effectively admitting "hey guys we cannot lane 2v2 in a straight up matchup like Varus/Aphelios + Ashe/Lulu vs Guma/Keria"

Every single member of JDG got exposed that series and Dom is still coping trying to find a way to explain away how the Golden Road team got smurfed on by a T1 that was struggling this entire year to do anything. T1 got stomped 3-1 in spring to GenG, lost to JDG at MSI and got stomped again by GenG in Summer 3-0. It looked so fucking back for T1 going into Worlds as a T1 fan. I expected them to at least make Quarter finals but I knew from there on it would be have to be hard fought victories to win. Instead T1 3-0s LNG, then 3-1s JDG and the only close game was game 3.

Eh, I mean, SKT 2015 dropped literally a single game, and it was in finals. This year, T1 was pretty impressive in the bracket, but they lost to GenG in Swiss and just generally looked more shaky earlier in the tournament

I would argue that oner is deserving of MVP had Zeus not popped off and was hyped a lot. He put game 1 and 2 on his puppet strings, and setup all lanes so well with lee and nocturne.
He would defo did if it were not for T1's game plans and meta.
Their strat is just leave Zeus on an island to farm and get item spike when team fight coems and flank the shiz out of their back line.
Oner's job is getting bot and dragons prio, bully blue side jungle so they can't camp top. Have hard engage or pick protential in mid game. Absorb agrro from the frontline so Zeus can kill the back line.
Oner defo does more but Zeus being a 1v9 machine is just so pivotal to their game plan and the fact that he really did 1v9 almost every games helps too.

T1 had to play the undisputed best team going into the tournament, JDG, and they stomped them in all 5 roles 3-1.

To your questions at the begginin of the video, the answer is simple. This roster without Faker looked like trash in LCK, they went like 1-7 in Bo3 and lost twice against last place team. Also Oner played like shit for good part of the year. So it's natural to praise Faker more, he's like an in-game coach and also one of the best mid laners right now even if not the best mechanically
