I love your work, you're a fantastic source of knowledge +1 follower Ive watched many of your videos and yet some questions persist, there is the advanced settings in asus router about openvpn, TUN/TAP, sha, udp/udc, static key or tls etc... It would be very nice a video about it because its a very misunderstood subject and information varies a lot
Thanks for the message and the follow. I have many advanced Asus router videos, here's a Playlist of them: ruclips.net/p/PL3qGVpWh7QbPfuZjZRPNu0va-rK_TM5tJ
MPORTANT: FORMAT THE USB DRIVE USING THE ROUTER'S FORMAT UTILITY (NOT YOUR COMPUTER) AND FORMAT IT TO NTFS, NOT exFat or FAT, otherwise or the drive may encounter errors, read and write slowly or not function at all. I sufferedwith this for years on ASUS routers, and even ASUS does not seem to know about it.
Hi, followed your instruction on creating the media server but nothing shows up in VLC player. Is there some sort of configuration I need to do on VLC?
Hello, I have a Sierra Wireless AC340U USB Broadband Modem that I use to receive my internet access GSM Cell Data signal. Can that USB Dongle be plugged into the USB connector on the ASUS Router and shared with other devices via the RJ-45 LAN ports and the WiFi functions of the router ?
Do you know how to see the "root" space of the usb drive? i cant with asus router, only folders are shared, however on a tplink router it let you access the root part and also the folders inside, seems with asus you can only access on the folders but not on the blank space with some files in there (outside of any folder)?
could u share a video where you can edit the content of the file ( eg word or excel stored in usb drive connected to router) via the internet without downloading it to local computer , please
I need help.. When i go to the browser and type ftp:routerIP it asks for some LOGON info (due to TLS) and it doesnt accept that newly created account credentials. What credentials it requires? thanks

I am having a orrible time with this. I am usually much better with this stuff. I have a dying NAS drive and purchased an ASUS router to replace it. I want to continue to use my internet providers modem/router and use the Asus as a simple nas attached to it. Do I need to configue the ASUS as an access point first and then do the SAMBA share configuration? How do I connect the ASUS to the main router? I love your videos but this one is just beyond me thanks in advance
@@KnowledgeSharingTech Thanks again for the quick response. Sorry to be a pain. I have the router in AP mode and connected. I have also configured the router in usb/samba as you instruted. If I sign into the AP I can see all the devices connected to the main router. If I sign into the main router I can see the Samba shares. The problem is that all I can see is the folders. When I try to see actual files in the folders it says that the foders are empty. They are not empty. The folders are all shared. I tried it with a usb hard drive and a thumb drive as well. Both with the same results. Any ideas?
@@KnowledgeSharingTech Thank you for all of your help and patience. It is up and running now. It is accessible by PC, Android and Apple.. Apple files program needs SMB://(server Ip Address) in order to not give a bad url failure.
@@KnowledgeSharingTech Hi sir, thank you for this information. Just to confirm, do I need to setup both routers? My main modem router which was supplied by the ISP was connected via LAN to my Asus router.
I have a Lenovo laptop connected with Wi Fi and a Dell tower connected with Ethernet. When I click on the drive and enter network credentials it always says the user name or password is incorrect and access is denied.
Thanks so much. I am waiting for my new asus router.

Yes, you need to configure the Asus as a router or AP. Here's how: ruclips.net/video/XFNb7pggbVs/видео.html

Hi, I can't access the USB drive outside my network. I can see I have a private IP on the router. How do I change it to public IP?
You need to do this: Setup port forwarding on Wi-Fi router step by step

I discovered that both computers had to be connected directly to the router with ethernet cables. No Wi Fi
Can u teach us how to install custom firmware on a TP link router?
Thanks for the suggestion, noted!
How do I access the files from an android device?
Ubuntu 23 ?
Important to say that the computer must be connected to the LAN, ex 2.4 Mbps or by a cable direct to the router, not by Ethernet.
