Every Pokemon I suspected could get the chance to evolve further were Pokemon that had pre evolutions such as Swellow or Jynx.
The customization is what I've always wanted in a pokemon game. Finally.

Customization has been in the series for multiple games now...
I'm so glad that any Pokémon can have any Tera type, the amount of strategic depth it opens up is just immense, particularly if there's a way to change a Pokémon's type later in the game. The food buffs look like they could help a lot, but getting a particular Tera type on top of all the other variables could end up being a bit of a slog otherwise.
The Tera type stuff seems like a great advantage in battling. I like when a Pokemon has a move that is completely different from its type. Takes players off guard.

Hopefully there will be an item that lets you change terra types similar to nature mints or at least a way to control which type a pokemon gets through breeding or something.
plus it opens up new strategies for competitive battles like say you're using a fire type and your up against a water type and your Tera type is grass
that's cool and all but if they don't give us some form of tera-mint to change the type, farming for a competitive mon is gonna be a nightmare, even more than it was before
Not only does Sunflora have the lowest stats of any fully evolved pokemon, now it has the lowest framerate too.
EDIT: Apparently my point went over everyone's heads. There are two possibilities here: Either the game is poorly optimized or the company didn't bother to make sure there were no glaring errors in their trailer. Both are bad. The whole thing with the other leaked pokemon is fine, that's a mistake that could have slipped by, but making sure everything obvious in your trailer looks good should be a no brainer (the Sunflora). The fact that the JP trailer doesn't have the framerate issue means they knew about it and released this trailer anyway. This is not an indie company, this is a multi-million dollar company. There is no excuse. They do not need to be defended.

@@DeltaRaptor476 where? bc if you're talking about the low frame rates in the FAR off distance that doesn't count. It's actually a strategy most games use now to keep their graphics up, where things far away stay at a low frame rate until your character is so many feet away from them.

When I saw the thumbnail I thought this game looked cool, then I realized this was a switch game. It is like the n64 and can't handle open world 3d games. It doesn't have the processing power for physics, rendering, and big levels.
The switch absolutely can, look at zelda and xenoblade. Game freak is just incompetent

Finding eggs during picnics sounds like an amazing detail to add for a Pokemon journey.
So many Pokemon trainers in the anime had their partner as just some random Pokemon in the wild they cared for and raised without battling and this egg finding mechanic looks like a great way to immerse yourself with these Pokemon.
But it also ruins Masuda method…

I actually found out about this interesting fact when Farigiraf was leaked a month or two ago, after looking at the design and then googling about any giraffes in Spain
Fascinating.
Pretty interesting how past Gen Pokemon are getting some regional form, evolution or there being convergent Pokemon (Wiglett) in this game based on the Iberian Peninsula.
A crafting system for TMs is honestly a stroke of genius. It will ensure you can always get more of the moves you want, while also giving you something else to go out and explore for even late game.
I know! But it really begs to question... will TMs be single use now? or it is kind of like buying/crafting spells in RPGs, wherein once you build it, you have it forever?
as long as it doesn't turn into a grinding, then everything is fine.
Honestly, I'm not so sure. The system itself is brilliant and I'd love it... in Gen 4 and earlier. Gen 5 removed the need for breakable TMs and I honestly don't know why they're backpedalling here. It's a shame because it's clearly stuck in the past so it just leaves me annoyed instead of impressed, sadly.
TMs were infinite prior. It's a downgrade. A partial upgrade for those that would enjoy exploring for TM-functionality

I’m glad Firagiraf is actually huge like a giraffe. Also I hope trainers will be able to picnic together online like we could in Sword and Shield - it seems like it should be a given, but still. The concept of pokemon eggs just showing up is really cute and cool too - I have a sneaking suspicion it may be a way to gain access to some rare pokemon.

Yeah agreed. Girafarig is 4’11” and has a short neck compared to most giraffes, and there weren’t any other giraffe Pokémon. Glad its evolution actually takes the concept seriously, aside from the symbiosis of both heads.
@@IgnitedQuils Girafarig gives Okapi vibes now with Farigiraf being 10.5 feet tall. Though... real giraffes are almost 20ft tall.

Weirdly, the egg during the picnic reminds me of the old Pokémon mystery dungeon explorers of sky with getting eggs as a reward for a mission, wonder if they’ll use similar logic where the egg can only be a Pokémon found in the area you picnic at…that’d be pretty neat consistency.

I'm glad that Girafarig evolves and not some regional form. For example, Sirfetch'd is cool, but it only evolves from a Galarian Farfetch'd. Regular Farfetch'd is still useless!

I love how the ghost type terrastalize is the ghost from way back in gen 1's lavender town tower! It really made me think back to when I started playing my first Pokemon game (yellow!) When I was a kid! 😊❤️

Yeah... but I'll be the first to admit this, this will make me miss most (emphasis of most) of the dramatic move animations and the evolution animation. I mean Legends Arceus' Evo Animation is CRAZY.

This is the coolest freaking game ❤. You’re telling me I can have a conflicting Tera Type (so many uses), and to beat the “Team Rocket” of this game I have to play Pokémon Tower Defense (essentially)! 🙈🙈🙈♥️😩 Added with the map tracker, I’m so excited! I stopped a third of the way in to say this lol

The only problem I noticed was how incredibly choppy all the Sunflora were during that gym challenge. Looking forward to the game though!
Edit: yeah just watched the Japanese trailer, why are the Sunflora so much smoother over there?
The windmill at the grass gym was also like 15 fps while the player was entering the town. Also there was a lot of grass pop in, and the icy wind affect made a tiny ice ball on a HUGE crab. Kinda funny
Same with the windmill while entering that town. I’m excited for the game but I wish they optimized/stabilized its performance better :/
It's likely still being optimized. We still have another month to go.

The nearby choppiness will probably be fixed by the time it releases (remember the chingling and chimchar from the legends arceus trailer?). The far-away choppiness will probably stay.
One issue I saw, tho... The small bushes not popping in untill you get really close (seen when the trainer runs towards the Titan Klawf).
After Legends Aceus its so weird to see the trainer just walk up to a pokemon in the overworld and the pokemon just stands still and waits, but I do like the Let's Go command which seems like a good step for the series and in line with Arceus
It's prob only in the trailer so that they don't have to chase it around

The fact that he seems to use a rock type Pokemon as his primary Pokemon also helps to separate him from the other grass gym leaders lol.

Arceus wasn’t open world. Open world is going where you want when you want without being dictated by story. Arceus had tons of story stuff blocking the way like older games

Not a fan of terastilizing, there's a reason it's paramount to build a well balanced team. Also, if terastilizing to you own type adds more of a bonus, it still makes more sense to keep a balanced team and buff base STAB more so. We will see how it plays out.

Showing a pokemon's tera type in the summary screen is a very useful thing that I'm glad they ended up going with, I was worried it would be like hidden power in that we wouldn't know what it does until you terastalize

I love that the trainer customization is more in depth. But if they don't get anything besides the school outfits it's gonna feel like a big step back to me. Hoping to see some diverse clothing options, even if it's only available after beating the game.
Looking forward to the game regardless though. Seems like a fun spin on the usual formula.

I’m loving the attention to the size of Pokémon. You can see in the raid battle how different the sableye and farigiraf are in height. Sableye actually looks like a little cave troll and farigiraf a giraffe. We’ve been waiting a long time for that.

Its the reason why I love seeing cross-gen evolutions. It makes unevolved pokemon have so much potential and also improve on pokemon designs. There are a bunch of unevolved pokemon that deserve evolutions and Im hoping we see more. Of course, moderation is key because sinnohs pokedex was bloated with evolutions.

I am kinda sad it no longer has the head-tail, or grew to be as tall as Alolan Exeggutor. Still, it got an Evolution, I am happy for that!

The idea of it's evolution was great, with it's ass in it's mouth. Or it's mouth on it's ass. The execution is pretty bad, I think...

That's kinda what I'm afraid of right now: Tera Pleroma being too strong in comparison to STAB, and Tera Blast having too high a BP.

@@RaceBandit Tera Blast seems like a move that only certain Pokémon can learn given how powerful it is, but since any Pokémon can terrastilize it also feels like "Hidden Power but you can actually tell what type it is"
Which means either they'll ban the specific Pokémon that can learn it, or ban the use of the *move* and not Tera as a whole (hopefully)

VGC Doubles is now the most popular format, and even if you're playing single battles, there are enough people playing SW&SH now that it's a switch game to make it inconvenient to play singles on Smogon. Their stupid rules are now done for.

One thing added in the last few years and in DIRE NEED of more options is character customization. Pokemon has always had the great capacity for an amazing open world rpg, and giving people more ways to fully immerse themselves is always a good move. 💜 pleaaaaseeee more outfits
