Forty years ago, my MIL introduced me to their family tradition of Fondue for Christmas Eve dinner. A tradition that was passed down from her parents, she was born and raised in Germany. She serves filet cut into small pieces and dipped into an electric fondue pot filled with hot peanut oil. We use divided wooden plates and have a variety of sauces for dipping our meat into. The fondue fork is very HOT! - and only used for the dipping/cooking. Served with yummy bread, cold cucumber salad and tomato vinaigrette salad. Delicious!

Can’t wait to see the garage finished. I’m wondering how many unique decorative touches there’ll be. You’ve inspired me all week with my DIYs. I painted some galvanised bells a dark antique bronze and since I liked your tree’s copper star from 2yrs ago I finally painted my perforated metal star with gold, brown and black. It’s a hanging star not a tree topper but now it fits in with the neutral colour scheme. I also revamped a blue and white vase to be white with texture. I could hear you saying,”Look at the texture you guys!” and jumping up and down with excitement. I think I should name this week V week. It’s been so fun. Thank you.❤

Personally I think finding designer "look-alikes" is way more fun than having the original. Let's face it... their prices are obsene. Huge profit margins. Why support such insane price points. Days are coming when such opulent luxuries will seem so frivilous. I find classics or even vintage pieces for far less and so much fun!!

I LOVE fondue! You need to try a beer based fondue! The Miyoko cheese is my fav for vegan fondue, and as much as I prefer to drink wine over beer, the beer based fondue is the most tasty, I think it’s the hops flavor. Also, the rich colors of your haul today look BEAUTIFUL on you and I can’t wait to order my fav pieces too!

May I ask what brand vegan cheese did you use? The brands really vary in quality and taste. Vio-life has some good ones, in Canada we have a brand called Nuts for Cheese that is good too. We used to get a brand from the UK called Applewood Smoked and it was the best ever. I make alot of my own vegan cheeses, sauces and dips too. I will try your recipe as this sounds fun for the holidays and it's a quick recipe, will add some pickles on the platter too.🎄
Long time viewer , I love your content, and the joyfull spirit your family have. As a swiss girl I feel I have to give my first comment on the fondue: Your receipt seems fine, but for me the best is the « moitié moitié fondue» = half half fondue that is half gruyère et half vacherin (I am not sure how available it is in the US) but for sure I would not recommend the raclette cheese you used. Raclette cheese is too fat for fondue. Also it looked too thin (got to love some white wine here) normally once you deep the bread it comes out covered in cheese, you don’t see the bread no more. As the process of melting the cheese, it is always an adventure and at one point you think you scewed but then it goes creamy. Secret is not too much heat and keep turning. Hope you try it again!
