I’ve been MIA due to tending my garden and plants, so this was a good video to return to viewing your channel. I hope you are feeling healthy and doing well.
I came to this naturally many years ago. Both in the landscape and pots. River stones are abundant here and have been my choice. A delightful venture. Thank you for sharing!😊
Amazing content as always! Would love to see a dedicated video on how to keep your plant happy in the long run - soil types, replanting, container sizes, etc
Always enjoy watching and hearing your horticultural knowledge... the backdrop of your yard and the natural sounds which nature provided is so lovely... the bird songs, shrubs/ trees moving with wind.
I love this! It never occurred to me that this craft was applicable outside of a terrarium. Now, I want ALL OF my arrangements like this!!! Thank you so much for the enlightenment and inspiration!
Gorgeous, I love succulent arrangements, sedums and alpines in concrete bowls. I've just bought 2 aloe striatula's, love the structural way they look and they're hardy for the UK.
Love love love how colorful yours turned out 😍 My husband & I planted a rock toilet garden on our anniversary. Mainly hens & chicks, sedum, & a prickly pear 🚽🪨 Equal parts trashy, equal parts conversation piece 🤣
Lovely stuff ! Thanks. Love it when the compaction comes with alpines and succculents. We use them in Bonsai as accent plants. Love that pot ! nice to you see making up ya own soil mix.
Summer, I was wondering when you were going to be back on this gorgeous property. I love this crevice container idea, as I’m a condo dweller in Jersey, and I only have my small balcony for outdoor gardening. I’m also super excited to see that Espoma has a bonsai mix. I regularly incorporate bonsai soil into my mixes for everything except my peperomias. Your property is beautiful, and I’m thrilled to see you got to spend some time there. Well-deserved, and since I’ve been watching you, I’ve learned so much. Hoping to see you in Brooklyn some time!
A beautiful project of inspiration. I would have never thought about using a fossil stone. Such a nice twist to the design and wonderful conversation piece. You must know in the past visit to Fairchilds Botanical Garden. I bought the book on him. Then that lead me to a book "A region of Astonishing Beauty" I looked at every single cultivar in that book. I was romanced with the idea of an Alpine garden in a hypertufa pot. But I wanna make the pot too ! lol Here on RUclips I found a tour for the Betty Ford Botanical Garden because I wanted more inspiration. Anyhow this episode so fit into my thinking how I might want to do an Alpine Crevice Garden. I love Espoma products. Thank You so much for the inspiration, idea's and knowledge 💖
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I’ve always wanted to learn about plants and how to take care of them but I’m clueless and I’ve never had a green thumb, I still love watching plant videos though😄👍✨🌿
Can you make a video on how to keep humidity high in an indoor jungle but keep other things like books and paintings, wood and bamboo furnitures mold and miledew free
That was fun to watch, and inspiring as well. I am going to use your tips to create something similar in a raised bed outside with really poor soil. It has 3 ft. of stone wall on 3 sides, since in this part of Puglia there are stone walls everywhere, mostly without cement. I don't have slate, but I have stones to last a lifetime! I hope to find some bonsai mix, but if not would you say cactus mix and pumice would be ok?
question.. can I use the new Espoma bonsai mix for my Split Rock? I purchased my first pleiospilos nelii and I need to repot it. 😉 thanks! ... and great video! . the crevice garden in a container is a great suggestion👍🏾
I have the Hylotelephim in a container out on my deck. But I had no idea of its classification name change as it was still labeled as Sedum when i got it. It has been doing fine on the deck which gets about 6 hours of full south face sun and takes the heat like a trooper.
Off topic BUT I have the same build as you and am looking for a type of overall that you are wearing. May you please share the name of the brand. From one plant lover to another thank you summer and all that you do.
Summer u r a saviour. It's monsoon here and I wanted to design a container with monsoon plants. I cudnt get an idea. U am going to use crevice gardening style now. Thanks a lot.
Hey gurl! Nice place. You say bonsai mix but when I ask people they say there is not such kind of soil and it depends on the type of plant that you have as a bonsai. How can I make my own bonsai soil?
Love that the video is outside! 😄
Wow that's a big rock to find in your garden!
And here i came to know about crevice Gardening.
Thanks 🌱🙂

Was waiting too see if you moved for the sun :). It’s good to see you doing potted plants outside and all the new experiences to learn and enjoy from.

My favorite hardy succulent is rosularia which is more closely related to sedums🤗😜
When I redo my old wheelbarrow succulent garden I’ll try this! Great idea! Thank you 🪴💚🌿

It's a new concept I never knew about well it was amazzzzzzzzing just loved it
Crevice gardening is also a practice for urban spaces - like planting food and flowering plants etc. in the cracks between concrete!
Thanks for the idea..inlove it 🥰🥰🥰🌿🎋🌾🍀
Well done 👍
Beautiful, I just love how it turned out!

Have you ever noticed that if something isn’t on RUclips it’s described as new. People have been creating crevice gardens since the 80’s in the UK.
Very nice! Would love an update in a while, to see how you keep it looking like you want
