Dear brother, 1. I know what ECR stands for in Railways. You are right that ECR means East Central Railway. However, ECR in South Central Railway in the current application doesn’t refer to the Bihar zone that you had mentioned. 2. Sometimes a particular board recruit candidates to its adjacent zones as well. For example, SCR and ECoR (Bhubaneswar) share the common boundary and hence sometimes, SCR recruit people in ECoR zone and they place the candidates in Vizag. In the same way, RRB Mumbai Board will recruit people across three zones that shares its borders that includes three zones, i.e, CR, SCR and WR. 3. If you check all the previous notifications in the current year (ALP, JE and Technician), you can see that under the RRB Secunderabad board, you will see an option to apply for ECoR zone. So going by the same logic, I would say that in the current notification also, RRB Secunderabad recruiting some people to its adjacent zone, that is ECoR. So my guess is that it’s a technical error. Instead of ECoR, they printed ECR. But they mean ECoR. 4. To the ECR zone, three boards will recruit its people. Those three boards are RRB Patna, RRB Muzaffarpur, and RRB Ranchi. I hope this information has clarified your misunderstanding about ECR and ECoR.
