  • That gun was a pretty hard one to disassemble. I failed in one screw. The other stuff went well so far. Now everything is disassembled and I start searching for the necessary repairs and parts that need to be replaced. Join me on my journey to bring this old gun back to firing capability!

If you use a 50/50 mixture of automatic transmission fluid and acetone it will help with loosening rusted parts. Ive used it to remove the nipples from several percussion rifles and shotguns. Let the mixture sit and give it time to work.

For german collectors/museums you don't restorate an historical weapon to "like-new" condition. Because history of the gun should not be deleted or destroyed. But it must be brought in a condition, so that it could be potentially used. Maybe this is different in your country?
