I've looked at many "light show houses" over the years. This was the most elaborate and kinetic by far. The LED roof was incredible. I've got to get to Fountain Valley and see it. THANKS for sharing your talent!!!
I just SAW THIS ON THE NEW!! AND HAD TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT! AND OMG!! IT'S INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GIVE MANY MANY PROPS TO THE GUY BEHIND THIS MAGICAL LIGHT DISPLAY SOOOOO AMAZING!! KEEP IT UP AND NEVER STOP DOING THIS ON CHRISTMAS NO MATTER WHAT THE old bitter neighbors say!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People, read ! " The whole system draws a maximum of 24 Amps, it runs on 120v AC. So that equals 2880 watts. Basically if you run a hair dryer and a vacuum cleaner, it's nearly equivalent. " So stop with your negative comments! Why always find the negative in everything? It's just, wonderful ! What a tribute! ... Congratulations ... (Pardon my English, I'm french)
Most impressive home holidays lights I have ever seen ! This why you should do things when you are alive as Larry would have loved to see this rather than dedicated to his memory !
This is an amazing combination of technology and art. Congratulations..In my view Lightshows are better when they are not always exactly in sync with a sound track ....The best Lightshows look like they are controlled by humans, by artists. By controlled chaos..... In my view....And it is a very moving tribute to your friend...All the best art is done for love. In my view.
Aww that was just just wonderful! Merry Christmas to you all and what a lovely gesture you have made for your friend. Thank you for sharing with us who couldn't come to see it in person.
Great Job!!! I'm very knowledgeable in electronics, therefore I can appreciate all the hard work you did in this project. Doing this in memory of your friend that passed away is a beautiful thing. May God Bless You!!! Merry Christmas.
@MrG....really? Who asked you to critique his dedication to his friend. Larry must of been proud to be your friend, even if you placed one candle in the window for him. You are obviously very talented! I've been watching RUclips lighting shows all afternoon and yours is the first one I watched all the way through. Bravo to you!!!!
SO EPIC! Beautifully done...I would love to be one of the kids living near this house. And people....if you read the description he says the energy required for this light show is equivalent to running a hair dryer and vacuum....so...think BEFORE you type!
Absolutely incredible. I especially loved the all blue portion, and the dedication to your relative/friend, not sure which. It brought a tear to my eye. Very nice dedication. Truly remarkable. God Bless. PS- I do believe in my heart that Larry could see this Wonderful work of art and I'm sure he truly loved an appreciated it :)
I saw this on my way back from playing basketball at shoreline with my friends, it was freaking awesome in person. kinda wanted to just stay and watch the show
hope your friend Larry really likes the show! I wonder if he went and tapped God and said -"hey Big Chief! take a look at what my friends did for me!" - happy holidays! I enjoyed the show!
I must say, U have set a new standard, as it appears U are one of the 1st to use LED lights & pixel mapped the FX. Very good. Now just go over it again, so that you get better synchro with the music ie watch the music-beats and flashes. If you project pictures, keep the ambiance darker, so that the effect stands out. It tend to lose if the surrounding light is flashing as a message or pic is shown. U had a serious lull in the middle, where the music was begging for lighting FX+only pulsed. BRAVO

Oh and if you dont like the music. No problem. The best Lightshows go with ANY music. Just turn the video sound off and turn your stereo up with your favourite tunes, Classical or Pop or....whatever takes your fancy...the Synaesthetic effects of a good Lightshow are amazing.....
good to see that you have used artnet II, I mostly use e1.31 from madrix on my stellagreens. 220 stellagreen strings that runs 110 DMX universe alone, like to see the size/price of a HOG2 running this against little Madrix :)
@neilric99 I do like the flexibility, this is my first foray into programmable RGB lighting, fun stuff, can't wait to add more! This setup is Art-Net II, guess I should have added that in the video....
Goto Ellis & Ward, drive North on Ward, turn left on Apache River before the 405 overpass. From Talbert & Ward, drive South, turn right on Apache River. From dusk till 10pm, look for the glow in the sky.
I started out on this project using e1.31, but quickly realized it couldn't cut it. The switch to ArtNet-II was required due to the amount of data being pumped out over multicast.
man i wish ppl would do this in places that have snowfall, no offence to the vid because that is insane, it would just be cool to see this during a heavy snowfall
@DraGonAIchemist I don't know, Seems pretty FUN to me, Who cares if they paid someone to do it? Still looks great and was an awesome tribute to their friend.
@psychonavigator Wattage use... well, the whole system draws 24 amps maximum, that only happens briefly when every single light is white. It runs on 120v AC. So 24a x 120v= 2880 watts.... A drop in the bucket basically.
Indeed we are! Please come by and see it, we've added lots of new things for this year! Exit the 405 Freeway at Euclid, go south towards Ellis, Turn right on Ward St. then Left on Apache River, follow Apache River to our place, you can't miss it, follow the glow!

@pyrogordo The music in the video is a dance version of Little Drummer Boy by Vector Mode I think.
@DeversDreamWeavers First foray? Damn... my "first foray" would probably be a 4x4 matrix on the front door... :)
I wish I could see that live :D
@gunstarx cross streets are Ellis & Ward, enter Apache River off of Ward and you can't miss us, show is on 4pm-10pm
man i wish ppl would do this in places that have snowfall, no offence to the vid because that is insane, it would just be cool to see this during a heavy snowfall
