    I love how he is so level headed and he doesn't blame anyone, or anything if he doesn't measure up to his expectations. What a great Olympic Athlete.

      His outlook on life? Sport can be "the cruellest thing in the world" he says. What about losing his poor dad?!

    • @kailazhane
      @kailazhane 8 лет назад +8

      John Watson exactly why I also said 'his outlook on life' because even after losing his poor dad he's still determined and motivated to make his dad proud and win that Gold medal no matter how long it takes.

    Felt insanely proud after watching his performance in the prelims, that just shows what an amazing diver he is. Its a shame things didn't go so well the next day but hopefully Tom will keep going and get another shot at Tokyo 2020. Hope he enjoys his rest now, he deserves it!

    He already proved in the prelims he can beat everyone. That was some incredible diving... he proved that he has what it takes to win gold. At this point the medal is just symbolic, but I hope he makes it to 2020, and I hope he finally snatches that gold!

      I'm sorry, the Chinese diver got a much higher score in the finals than anyone else in any Olympics ever. your point is? He was just lucky during the prelim and nothing else.

      wayne launer Lucky? He's been diving like that his entire life. One day messed up and everyone forgets, this guy has broken records and won world championships and Olympic medals. It's not luck that he had such an excellent score. Why is everyone being so negative...

  • @afsanaparvez6112
    @afsanaparvez6112 8 лет назад +1

    guys its more the sport of diving u have to look at statics it has nothing to do with his relationship with lance he helped him get back into diving wen he was at an all Time low 2013 he had bigger personal relationship problems losing his dad which was a massive heartbreak during a massive unaccountable size of a life time dream and number one life ambitions 2012 Olympics and he still manage to hold himself together. fact is I up until 2016 his eye was on the ball having won third in 2015 world champs and first in European in fact something I'm even more shocked bout is QUI BOI he been WORLD CHAMPION 3 TIMES IN A ROW 2011 2013 2015 and with tom out I sure as hell thought he was gonna get gold but he didn't even get a medal at all but even on the day nerves got to him which he even said and he under perform getting 5s than 10s within rounds dropping him from first to last

    I bet Neymar would rather have a World Cup winners medal over his Olympic gold.

    • @craygroup

      Máirín Kenny Football shouldn't be in the Olympics because almost all of the top players don't play it in, thus nullifying the point of having a sport at the Olympics.

    The same old thing... when a sportsman gets married then their performance dips as his mind is only on one thing ??? sorry Tom Daley your mind was on other things in life.

    • @peerkbh
      @peerkbh 8 лет назад +12

      Any athlete will tell you that without the support of their family and friends they wouldn't be able to compete at such a high level. Thousands of the athletes who competed in Rio brought their wife, husband, girlfriend or boyfriend with them. Tom's fiance was there for him and supported him all the way. You need to get over your narrowmindedness.

    Served him right for celebrating too early for that bronze and laughed at the Chinese for crying over a silver medal in 2012.
    Now you know how hard it is when 1.3 billion of the Chinese might actually blame on QiuBo for not doing his best in 2012 and got the silver.
    And not to mention, the number of divers in China can easily outnumber every other country, you failed one competition? Other guys in China will fight their way to overtake you, so for Qiu Bo to come out again in 2016 is tremendous. Unlike this guy right here, you failed this time? Next Olympics will be yours to go because NO other divers are available in the while Entire country of GB.

      @IgniteBurningIce 8 лет назад +6

      As a Chinese person I would say these are some quite insightful and true points but no need for baseless assumptions and insulting Tom with supposed karma...
      All athletes work hard and deserve to be congratulated on their achievements, not blamed for their 'failures', China's attitude is slowly changing too, emphasising spirit rather than cold hard numbers, placing less blame on individual athletes.
      Crying over a silver medal, no matter how hard the situation is in China, is not an attitude that should be fostered. Chinese people know that and are moving away from the nationalist view of sport.
