In Master Rank, second pod drops around 35%, not 30%. Third pod drops at about 32%. So even when you see third pod, you need to fight it a little bit more. It's also possible (and very easy) to skip pods in Master Rank, so I generally wait for the limp.

Fastest possible is hard to say. S&S can be a lot faster in LR/HR on its own but less consistent. Its a trade-off between speed and consistency when choosing a weapon in LR/HR.

Hey quick question why did you switch from SA to SNS
Just different fight scripts. SnS is faster but harder to execute. SwAxe is a bit slower but much more consistent and easier.
