    Really good interview by Arsenio. Only asked him a couple questions and man did DDL dig deep on those. Perfect interviewing technique by Hall.

      my thoughts exactly. the more i watch from him, the more mesmerized i am. he's just so... different. brilliantly different, like a star shining in an ocean of darkness, lonely and vibrant. but as you said, beyond any possible words.

      @@mamadoritos Yes, I'm sure about it; I'd give anything to meet Daniel and talk to him, but I know it's very difficult now that he's apparently retired; I hope he reconsiders it, I want to see him doing another great character❤❤❤❤❤❤

    now he's considered the greatest actor of his generation and even "ever". In 1990, it was all just starting. Already, just with his use of language in this interview, his intelligence and sensitivity and awareness shine through. The ladies were already gearing up to throw themselves at him, I'm sure. There can be only one, right?

    I would watch him do nothing more than recite the ABC’s...over and over and over...even as he’s gotten older I find him to be the most beautiful man...not just physically..but his mind is equally as beautiful. He is exquisite in every way.

  • @Maddolis
    @Maddolis 14 лет назад +1

    Yeah, two actors come to mind- Gary Oldman and Daniel Day-Lewis.
    Oldman's already got a character in Batman, so that kinda narrows it down...
    I don't think it's necessary to replace the Joker in another Nolan Batman film- I wouldn't dislike it if they did announce DDL was playing him, but I'd probably rather he play another villain (though most others aren't as well written).

    To answer your question, yes he was. I agree the role has great potential, but I've watched that film many times and everytime I become more enchanted by Heath's performance. It was masterful. You can name any villian in history and that joker is right there as well. But I think out of respect, DDL won't do it. He dedicated a SAG award to him.

  • @minskiha
    @minskiha 15 лет назад

    Bad actors or bad casting will certainly fuck it up this role.
    The fact that the producers propositioned Day-Lewis, one of the best actors alive, for this role should tell you just how brilliant Ledger was as The Joker. Day-Lewis may be one of a small handful of actors who has the capacity to match Ledger's performance.

    I know he's irish but he looks so british to me! It's not a bad thing, I really think they're gentleman, very polite, learned people, so different from american men. I know both british and american men and overall I can't stand the americans, but of course probably there are exceptions.

    • @sdatkins2676
      @sdatkins2676 9 лет назад +4

      Cristina Sousa Well, that's offensive as hell. I am a college educated American woman and not all of our men are cretins. There are more than a few exceptions to your generalization. By the way, you are insulting the Irish by assuming that they are somehow less learned, polite or gentlemanly than the British. Some of the best writers and thinkers in history were from Ireland. And there are some absolute monsters who come from England. DDL, by the way, was born and raised in England. His mother, who was of Eastern European descent, was born and raised in England. His dad was born in northern Ireland but his family moved to England when he was two. So, he was raised in England himself. DDL has dual Irish and English citizenship. He considers himself an Englishman living in Ireland (and these days NYC because he is married to one of those awful Americans and she happens to be the daughter of one of the most acclaimed "AMERICAN" playrights of all time--Arthur Miller.

      S Datkins You say "Some of the best writers and thinkers in history were from Ireland". You're so wrong! We just know about the existence of all those english speaking authors because english is the universal and dominant language. Some of the best writers and thinkers in the world (the real ones) aren't from english speaking countries, they're from distant and unimaginable countries such as Asia or the Middle East but we don't know them because they don't speak the dominant language and therefore, they remain anonymous.

      +Stephen Casey bracken His father was Cecil Day Lewis, an English man born in Ireland who rejected his Irish birth, he was also a poet lauret if I am not mistaken, he denied his Irishness. Daniel is very English but as a result of his fathers derision embraced the Irish side of his history, as much as I would love to say he is Irish, as an Irish man, he is English but with a very Irish understanding, he lives in Ireland and loves the country, but again I would say he would identify as English but with and Irish soul, Hopefully.
