Thank you for the first aid tips and tricks , having been injured in some precarious wild locals I can appreciate the importance of the knowledge your passing on, I like to be prepared to handle such situations.
Nice show and tell and informational, funny this video popped up I just got back from physical therapy for my knee when I go back I’m showing them this video 😂👍👌✌️🫡🇺🇸
Thanks for these topics, they're outstanding! Would you use an immobilizer vs a brace if you suspected there a torn ligament like an ACL? Or would it be for more serious injuries where the knee/leg can't bear weight?
This is probably a dumb question, but if you’re trying to immobilize a hinge joint why wouldn’t you put the more rigid immobilizer in the direction of the hinge? With the SAM splints on the side, the only things keeping his knee from bending are the elastic wraps, no?
Because it digs into the flesh while lying and is much harder to put on without causing further damage. It has been tried. Also, 2-4 degrees of movement is necessary if they have to put him on a litter. Think bouncing and earthquake protection -- slight give prevents jarring and fracture.
Excellent instructions.! Cheers for sharing your knowledge digger. Greetings from Australia.

For ACL I would say you should immobilise it. Not a doctor, just someone who has torn an ACL.
Awesome
