But the deciding factor in your accent is where you grow up. She moved to England at a very young age. Thus, her English accent would've been her first one to fully form. And is her accent she is most familiar using. Her American accent was because she moved to America while still young enough to adapt to another accent. And she wanted to fit in, so picked up the accent. That was her second accent, but it is still a natural accent. That makes her bidialectal. She naturally changes depending on where she is but also often chooses to use the accent of the character in interviews. So, if she's promoting say the X Files, she'll usually adopt an American accent. And vice versa. Although, her British accent is her stronger one. Especially having lived there a while. She's spoken about this in interviews. And I'm not saying this to claim her as a Brit. I'm Australian.
