A Few Initial Checks Before using a Digital Multimeter ( DMM )

A few quick tips to make sure that your digital multimeter will make accurate measurements. These few initial checks will save a considerable amount of time and will verify that your DMM is capable of making quality measurements. This is well suited for the electronic / electrical technician, technologist, engineer, trades person, or home hobbyist that has no experience with a DMM. O.L. means infinite resistance. What about if there was a short, what would be the resistance?
