I feel like they should have a charge. Maybe a prepared charge like the Landsknechts where they gotta be in brace before. Unsure as to what their actual role is meant to be, bracing isn't strong enough to stop cavalry and they're not sturdy enough to be front line damage dealers...
They should be Anti polearm unit, cuz this weapon was used to counter pikes. So for future pikes units we would have counter. They should be killed by meele units wich are faster and easier to defend theme self
In the begining of the previous season orochi were said to be trash too, but they were later recognized in meta. Maybe we just have to give zweihanders more time. In the clips you presented zweihanders were often ran over by cav or sqiushed between enemy units. You were playing them very agressively, but they are not men at arms. I think they are meant to be flanking DPS unit much like onna musha, but without their speed and quick abilities. Maybe zweihanders could do better in bigger fights serving as damage dealers, rather than 1v1 the most meta unit in the game recently... Honestly to me as I watched this video they looked fine, damage output is incredible, they are 100% better than most units in the game. They feel similar-ly to VGs or Silahdars in their playstyle.
You are 100% spot on, they are insane damage dealers and need to be treated as such, they are an amazing unit and have unreal block break when using abilities. Not to mention the "cc immunity" while using abilities
They aren’t bad at all and yes he tossed them into horrible situations no unit would make it out of and called them bad. I assume he was tilted but he didn’t make a good showing or them at all and never to my knowledge even tried to make use of their passive tied to prepared stance after taking damage and healing back to full. They are much better and hopefully when he isn’t so tilted he’ll revisit them and play them better and see they actually are a good unit.
I dont have zweihanders, only the 3 day unit butbyou are definitly Missing some crucial comparison points: Orochi received a major buff and a pretty strong doctrine with the doctrine dash and fewer mastered Units were available.
You can actually store the buff they get in prep stance so you can use prep stance then move the unit and the next skill with still increase their health and dmg
I preordered them (yes I did and yes I know I shouldn’t) but I’m finding them so much fun at the moment love them as a unit bloody claymore silahdars P.S I’m finding a lot of value out of them

Hi Mr Plum how you doin ? The Video was good thanks for your helps on this unit. I think we need to have more time so we will be able to discover their potential like every new unit in game, and the defense needs a buff like 80 points at least on each😂
Give them some time, just like all the gold units people call them trash but after about a couple of days or weeks into having them out, people recognize that they are good, take varangians, when they first came out I remember people weren't fond of them and trashed them, but after awhile they were so good they had to be nerfed. Hasashins people believe they would be trash, but after figuring out how to use them since they seem to be very high skill to use people AGAIN recognized that they are very good under specific circumstances. If we give the zweihanders time and have people test them and figure out the strengths, weaknesses, and the right play style we will see them being good. I notice people ALWAYS trash on units when they first come out and don't give them a trash, it is like they expect the unit to be OP on the first day/time it releases. Give it time.
They been doing good on beta and the nerfed thing made them very awful while they eat much of your leadership. It's actually makes me sad that some 4 star unit can take them out in map in just second. Dev really trolling us.
They aren’t bad at all the only purple that wins against them is onnas and imp pikes and that’s just due to the disarm and cc if not broken up. If timed correctly though I believe they can beat onnas fairly easy with hero play involved.
It would be a really big shame if we had no meta seasonal units in this season. Was really looking forward to this knight season too.. I honestly thought they were fine in testing
welp am kinda disappointed at Zweihanders i thought they be way cooler and good because The Kriegsbruders has the best ai , you charge them in to the enemy press 2 and in & out and the Schutzdieners are the best support like healing arrow that was best idea of cb I just hope cb will maybe rework Zweihanders because they look fricking great big man with big sword (also i thought they punch & headbutt the enemy maybe like a stun)
Feel for you Plum, pushing ahead and buying your way to this unit only for it to be doggers. Reapers are wearing flexiplates and chainmail and these guys are wearing full plate, yet have have the defensive stats never mind that 48% dmg reduction trait. All that hype with that video for expansive claymores that disintegrate.
Lol i remember working on dem varangian guard. I know that everyone says that they suck but i didn't listen coz i believe i could make them work just like the sons of fenrir, but no. They are really squishy. Dem unit wears full armor with a shield yet theyre so squishy lol

Hussars reapers and orochi samurai are the only real t5 in use. Sometimes guns and flamers.
They used beat MAA but IR smash them ( both in flail and sword mode. They seemed more powerful in their beta version. I think it's good that they are weaker, because we don't want a reapeat of the varangians. Orochi are a similar case- they are good but the shield meta does not favour them and despite being a seasonal unit they don't smash everything. EDIT: Their brace and tankiness should be buffed and their 2 should be devastating but on a longer CD. Like I am not saying they should stop hussars but they should damage cav decently and they should smash infantry.
I think they are good. As a db its hard to give any Support tbf. As a glaive I most of the time kill maa and mine are lv 18 or smth? They really need cc and Cover support tho.

Hmmm i had a different, better experience with them. I run bot vet, currently lvl 27. Top vet only focuses on Gambit, with the best perks right at the start (dmg). The base cooldown is already quite good imo. Running the gambit doctrine, Health+blunt def 1, Breakthrough, siege fighter and finally labour for 400 hp (Lack of better doctrines...) While I do fully agree that in terms of leadership, you can get better units, I also think it's quite unfair to compare them current meta units that are blatently OP. (Ment at arms with full mastery, yolo cav etc.) But leadership out of the picture, I find them to fit thematically for this entire season. All units are more unique in terms of tactics/skills and while their damage is not very good, they are quite tanky. What i noticed though, was that the zweihanders usually spread out too much in combat, so i order them to column formation behind the enemy they're fighting. They will all stack up in the middle, trigger gambit and watch the fireworks, especially in narrow spaces. I then pull them back with prepared stance, 5% hp per sec. I think they're good at flanking and for pushing behind a shieldwall. The only units i had issues with so far are Onna's charge (but every unit has that issue, reapers and t5 lance cav charging in.
After testing them a lot more, I sadly must agree with your opinion...My first day must have been lucky, but the zweis are really squishy and i am not sure the CC immunity works like it should. Also, prolonged combat does not make them better at all, like their trait says. Worst of all, Bottom vet doesn't work. Compared them to MaA and they outheal with mastery. MaA healing is 3%, while Zweis with bot vet should be 5%, but it feels only like 1% lol.

they are not a frontline unit, more a flanking, which is odd. There stance/brace gives them no benefit at all besides healing, like no dmg reduce or anything like modaos get and there knights gambit ability is kinda slow too, if its just quicker when they do each slice would feel much smoother
The stance actually does have benefits on bot vet. 15% damage reduction and the follow up will have 30% damage reduction. Finally, it also buffs the healing from 2% per second to 5% per second AND at 100% hp it buffs defense by 15% when you use a skill.
