Travis, me thinks you need to get a steadying frame work installed inside the coupe so you can keep the contours and squareness of the body intact. The roof corner rehab looks super, carry on McDuff, the end is getting closer.

Two questions. 1. I see some small pin holes or gaps in your rig welds, do you keep those and fill them? Or do you re-weld those small areas? 2. The roof has a ton of surface rust, how do you get that clean and prepped?

When are you gonna attach the body to some sub rails ?

  • @1BSARoadRocket

I admire your ambition to resurect this deuce with your quality metal working skills. My one suggestion is to religiously wear a N95 dustmask or even a respirator when grinding lead or even rusty sheetmetal.
When you put on a new white dust mask and then grind on something for a couple of hours and the mask turns brown which it will that's all the crud the mask kept out of your lungs.
It's easier to get lead poisoning than you wouild think. When the lead is ground into fine particles and being blow all over the place with the grinder that's when it's in it's most dangerous form.
My father gave himself leadpoisioning by refninshing an old house. Lead has to build up in your body for a long time before you finally get symptons of lead poisioning and it takes a long time for the symptoms to go awayy once you figure out what's going on.

@@Lanni_747 Yeah, maybe HE does, and ignores the issue, but think about those who might be getting into the craft. They might NOT know or be thinking about the safety issues. IMHO anyone who posts videos should set a good example for others. Ignoring safety and flaunting it in a video is just wrong. Off camera, he can huff paint if he wants to, but ON camera there should be some responsibility to pay attention to the big picture. I ignored it for decades and now I'm paying for that. But yeah, I get it... it does get tedious after a while reading it over and over.

You need to get the sub structure fixed first.so you can fit the doors then fix the cosmetics.
