This will be well worth a go in the creeks near where I live. The flatties that once thrived there are, let's say thin on the ground, but that's not to say they've disappeared for ever, and I loves a challenge. A wonderful location there, and a trip out with the one and only Mr Hand, what's not to like!!??
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 Oh I'll defo be trying the mullet thing as soon as they turn up in my creek. I've tried there for years with bread and all the other usual suspects without success. Although I have had them follow un-baited spinners. This could well be the game changer. Watch this space!!
Never tried spinning for flounder, but will definitely give it a go, even though they didn’t quite show for you guys. Had some great sessions trotting worm under a float for them. You’re right, they are happy chasing and attacking bait off the bottom, brilliant fun. Another great video, loved some of the shots you set up for a different perspective, just brilliant. 👍🏻
What a lovely couple you and Wayne make 😂 really enjoyed the video guys will definitely give lure fishing for flounder a go, something different to try ... Thanks Tom take care mate👍🎣🎣
Hi tom you ok mate, n hi to wayne. Cheers for the vid again i enjoyed the watch. Nice music aswell. I haver never spinned for flounder's but i no they can be very aggresive at bites at times. I saw a vid a few year bk were they was on a boat n had a camera under the water n they was chasing the baits. I was out this morning in tuff conditions on the humber and only managed a 30cm dab . All the best tom from GRIMSBY.
I was using an 8'6" rod here suitabl for casting up to 15g with a 3000 size reel loaded with 16lb braid. Light is key as the spinners are light and it maximises the fun when you hook up (unlike us!).
Yes mate. Got to wait until 1st May now! It's very frustrating as this method is clearly targeting the sea fish and not salmon or sea trout. In fact the (probably) thousands of hours I've spun with a baited Mepps over the years I've never caught a salmon or sea trout. I used to speak to the old bailiffs and they were fine with the method any time, but under the new owners I've had no response to my questions, so I'll be sticking to the rules for now.

It's a tactic that I think will work on lots of venues. It's an enjoyable, light and mobile method. Mullet spinning is my summer addiction!

I look forward to the reports...

Great to see some more quality vids Tom, thank you
Could you let us know what rod, reel & line setup you're using for this style of fishing?

I'm guessing it's still sea fishing all year any method, but no spinning between 1st Feb & 14th May downstream of the clay pool.

Thanks for the reply Tom. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather & some mullet spinning.
@rich peas you and me both mate!
Ah the dream team reunited! Great video gents, the only two pro anglers who have both sold me new rods!
Ha ha! That's a great accolade! I hope both the rods have caught you plenty of fish!
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428still haven’t got my spotted or small eyed ray off of Southbourne yet with them 😥
Spotted is a tough one but small eyed should be easy enough to tick off the list. We need to get that sorted this year for you.
Freezing your mini toes even!
I have 10. You're jealous.
True sadly :(
tom whats the make of the waders youve got on ,nice vid
Hi mate, those are a pair of Hart breathable stocking foots. Sadly, unable to get them anymore!
Hey! You’ve stolen my thumbnail font 😂. Lovely to see the flounder thriving in Christchurch. 👍
It's pink, I couldn't resist.
