So I've been wondering when this would be available for me to use - I just did another update and its still not there - found out from another video that a single user must open a TEAM ACCOUNT in order for this functionality to be available on the ribbon - I did that and there it is - why this is necessary who knows!
Cool to learn that you're the author of the Gridfinity add-in. I've both used the add-in and inspected the code while writing my own. Thanks for the add-in and the easy to parse code. Hopefully we'll get a way to have native parametric text in Fusion at some point. Edit: For anyone who reads this, you need to be in a teams based project to use the configuration tools
Hey thanks but we're not the author of that add-in. We use it and we've made our own generator that's available for making 3D print files: makerworld.com/en/models/41659
If I’m not mistaken, configurations requires the paid version of Fusion 360. I don’t know if you have paid or free but that could be a factor as to why you don’t see the new features.
Oh, I /am/ as excited as you are 😅 This is a feature that I've been missing since leaving Solidworks. I don't see it yet either, but you can bet I'll be keeping my eyes peeled!
Just jumped into fusion again and configurations are HUGE, especially that I can have multiple configurations of a part in the assembly. So for a project I'm doing with 20x20, I onky have one model, and adding a new length is just another configuration. Dont think you can do that with parameters
This IS big! Th anks for the great tutorial!! But please consider changing your thumbnail image to ..like different cabinets or at least gridfinity things. Color change is fairly useless and doesn't represent the importance of this feature?
It is not available to everybody, the Autodesk blog post could not be clearer: "Note: This feature will only be available for commercial and education licenses."
*Have you tried it yet?* _What are your thoughts?_

That’s very great update. Definitely making Fusion 360 better and stronger 👍👍
Finally! Can’t wait. Thanks for the vid 👍🏻
🤘
Updated fusion but it's not available on my side... Looks likegn. It's a slow rollout

If configuration isn't showing up, you have to join a team. Worked for me.

It’s hard to say without a visual

Thanks. I wouldn't say color change is useless at all.

ya um I have a commercial license - is that clear?
Where is the them to change the color?
you have to create that yourself, same as with every configuration option
@@pdxcnc I'm currently working on this myself just started using configurations, appearances are not a option in configurations, how did you do it?
I wish I had this like a month ago
do explain
@@pdxcnc I wish I had access to configurations a month ago! I was doing a lot of related families of parts.
@MrKadvaga ahhh, yes I know that exact feeling
Same here - just updated - it's not there - Paid subscription
Autodesk announced they'll be rolling it out to paid subscribers throughout this week. I believe to avoid any potential outages.
ok then that answers it - thanks @@ProductDesignOnline
