    Thank you Dr. Soper! That was the best course I've seen on RUclips for many years. It is the best both in terms of material and the way how it was presented. The slow speed of the lectures helps to understand better. If someone is not satisfied with the speed just click 'gear' icon and increase speed.

    At 23:00 you spoke of rigid Normalization compromising the speed of queries, thanks for that eye opener; somehow I always thought better normalization would have sped up querying. In SQL server however, would the use of a View assist with the speed of data retrieval?

    It seems to me that the MPG problem is confusing because what you think he is asking is : Who is saving more money compared to each other? In that case, Daisy is saving more money overall & is in a better position. However, what he is really asking is : Who is right now saving more money compared to what they themselves were paying previously? In that case, Bubba was paying so much before that it is very easy for him to save money & dramatically improve his spending ratio compared to his previous self by just saving a little bit while Daisy was already saving so much money before that anymore savings start to have a diminishing effect compared to what she was previously spending.

    • @jimb6554
      @jimb6554 2 года назад

      To look at it from a different angle, if both Daisy & Bubba have 0 miles on their vehicles & they both set aside a fixed amount of cash for gas money meant to last 10,000 miles & they based the amount of money on what their previous vehicles' gas costs were, then when both vehicles reach 10,000 miles, Bubba will have more change left than Daisy. So that's all he is asking for.
      However, Daisy will be spending less money on her gas overall & since she was already spending less on her previous vehicle, she will have set aside much less money than Bubba did so that's why their is less change. If they both set aside the same amount of money, then she would have had much much more money left over.
      Also, while they will be driving a similar amount of distance (10,000 miles) & time (discounting A/C & idling etc), during that "stretch of time" Bubba will have visited the gas station & filled up many more times than Daisy, assuming they were both fully filling up their tanks at the same points of depletion as each other. For example, let's assume every time they were on empty they filled up & they both drove the same amount of hours every day along side each other. Bubba will be filling up once every 5 days while Daisy might be filling up once every 25 days.
      While before, it may have been that Bubba filled up once every 4 days while Daisy filled up once every 16 days.
