Awesome show. I live in Australia thank the Lord our rescue helicopters fly at night to save critically injured people. We are one lucky country top medical staff, Ambulance and top notch Hospitals
I Live in Melbourne. Alfred Hospital kept me going when I was in a fire. I stopped breathing and the Ambo's revived me. Thanks to the teams and thanks to Firefighters. It's hard to talk about but I'm glad I saw this episode
Not until someone we know closely or we ourselves be in an accident that we truly understand these are heroes who save our lives and give us a good chance to regain some quality of life. I had an accident recently and first had to be rescued by multiple teams of paramedic and then needed a surgery. So, I understand also how you feel.
I had my 4th degree burn down my shin I wish someone would have guided me to Alfred Hospital instead I went to St Vincent. Got fucked up badly by some nasty trainees.
The Alfred helped my former partner out when due to pneumonia he hadn't been expected to get through the night by another doctor. They really do great work all around.
3 people I know have died in car accidents. One being my brother. Another friend of mine was severely injured. She healed but cannot have children. I’m glad she lived.
I'm happy to see The Alfred get the praise it deserves. Living in Melbourne I'm aware that the health services offered there are world class.... I feel very lucky. I think what also needs to be recognized in relation to the decrease in road traffic accidents and trauma is an extremely well done, graphic and shocking (for a good cause) RTA advertisement campaign aimed at drivers. PS: It doesn't always rain in Melbourne.
My mum was a nurse at The Alfred for over 20yrs, she said it was the best hospital she ever worked at. So much happiness and sadness all at once. Our Flight crews, Paramedics and MICA teams are wonderful. Flying at night, is dangerous yes... but lives are worth saving, everyone has the right to survival.
I really do have to praise Australia for it's top-notch medical service. Both Melbourne with it's RTA specialists, and Perth with it's rare disease specialists. Some of the absolute best in the world. Keep it up guys and gals you always have my vote of confidence.
Our air ambulance are amazing they have saved my son many times. His asthma and allergies saw us many times in one of them. I sold my farm and moved into the city just to keep my boys alive.
We are so lucky, and also to have a fabulous pblic health system. let's not let it be further weakened by increased privatisation that only serves the wealthy, or makes us live in stress and poverty to pay for it.
An amazing story , I'm Australian born and bred also extrememely proud about everything Australian especially our medical workers all of them from surgeons, doctors nurses and domestic staff they all do amazing things to look after us all.so a huge thank you.
I had no idea there were so few people living in Australia. Only 22 million, wow! We have almost 30 million in my state alone here in the US. If I ever win the lottery, I want to move to Australia or the UK where they treat healthcare as a right instead of something you have to kyll for like here in the States.
I had a car accident 25 years ago. They saved my life but now I am disabled and the pain I live with is excruciating and wish it would go away but it's just getting worse and no help from anyone or any doctor's. I just keep getting put into the to hard basket because of the multiple medical problems from the car accident and I am just going to get worse no matter what they do.
10:29 that is absolutely gnarly, i can’t believe that wasn’t a fatal hemorrhage. up until they saw the ct results and found out about the atropine, i honestly thought he was gonna start coding especially with those pupils.
Thank God for the UK NHS that I hope the whole world gets to experience- I am a dual citizen of UK n Oz - Oz is catching up I hope it doesn’t want to follow USA and everyone pay. Humanity in every country deserves FREE Hospitals.
In the 1st 10 minutes we meet a Shane and a Wayne, stereotypical names here in Australia 😅 I must admit though, I would never get a motorbike - just so many dangers if you get in an accident - you're more likely to have an accident, many times not your fault. I remember when my two brothers were getting to driving age, they both had classmates that died in car accidents.
As he said (not quoting every word that was said), "in the UK hospital/rescue helicopters don't fly at night due to the risk...", whereas we Aussies do, we eat concrete for breakfast 💪😉 Seriously speaking though, I'm a mother & grandmother, if one of my darlings were severely injured but couldn't be flown to hospital by air due to it being dark (pfft 🙄) I'd make a shit ton of noise about that!! What about their air force helicopters & planes?? They fly at night for war games, drills etc but not to save the lives their countrymen?!? Our high success rate of saving lives is due in part to our helicopter paramedics getting patients to hospital asap, whether day or night, if the UK did that they'd have a higher success rate too...
Having recently (Feb this year) had a pacemaker urgently installed at The Alfred after suffering Total Heart Block, I have nothing but praise for the place! But my best story about it concerns my wife, an RN.. Some years ago now she had occasion to ring an interstate hospital to ask their HR Dept if there were any nursing positions available. The remainder of the conversation went like this - Hospital - "Where did you train" My Wife - "The Alfred" Hospital - "When can you start" Enough said!
That's what our hospital needs. More ppl on the floor. More rooms for just trauma patients. But sadly it's not and it takes forever and we are a trauma hospital
You have say anything else you need me to come back from the beginning but you don't have any plans for the first place and time again that you can see you soon baby
If your not an Aussie: In Victoria its: 110kmh on a freeway 100kmh on a highway local speeds vary from 40 to 100 As far as I know the max speed in Australia is 130kmh in the Northern Territory with some parts (I think) unlimited
It's all about the presenter, like who gives a sh#t. Watched ten minutes of him and bad camerawork. Reminded me of those ghost series they had in the UK.
I also wondered why it seemed the narrator/presenter seemed to be talking too much, camera focused on him. This is the second episode I've watched, and right in the beginning I caught the into saying he is a doctor, the series is about him traveling to different emergency rooms, comparing how they work. It's easier for me to watch now, understanding this.
We are lucky our medical staff can keep calm on the surface like a duck on water but beneath the surface the legs are moving frantically. I'm blessed to live in Australia free helicopter if required bulk billed hospital and Dr care.

Amazing trauma team. Pity they have to deal with people being idiots in cars - most of these car crashes could be avoided if people were responsible.

This was one of my very favorite shows👍🫶

Kevin, you are a great presenter, great work my friend.I am very proud to be an Aussie!!!!
These people are real heroes! Greetings from the USA! 🇺🇸 🇦🇺
Damn, that head injury was horrible and unbelievable In equal measures.
Great stuff.
Great new channel, well done 👏👏👏👏👏
fascinating show with great production values... narrated by a splendid voice, particularly liked the floating names on the team members... cool
Amazing Video👍, amazing people👍, tho, I'm surprised there's no age restriction on this video 😅
Massive respect for these emergency workers ❤️

Hoping someday you will find effective pain relief 🥲
Thank you so do I. Been in pain all day all night since 1995 takes it out of you.
I am so sorry my dear. Will think of you each day sending thoughts to soothe your pain❤❤

Are EMTs in the US trained at this level? If not, how can the training be changed?
Very complex and exensive infrastrucure is required
These Emits are trained very much like nurses and work in a very small space. Step 1 to save a life.
Great video! Great upload! Thank you! The look at the overall layout of the building and why it works so well was fascinating.
Air Ambulances are fantastic
given they can serve an area ❤
Thank God for the UK NHS that I hope the whole world gets to experience- I am a dual citizen of UK n Oz - Oz is catching up I hope it doesn’t want to follow USA and everyone pay. Humanity in every country deserves FREE Hospitals.
Good watch! Love how relaxed but professional the staff were.
Wow, brains all ova the floor, goes to show the job these guyz do to save people. Amazing.
Very good documentary

Excellent documentary and I agree Melbourne has a great trauma response, Australia in general has excellent medical facilities
Having recently (Feb this year) had a pacemaker urgently installed at The Alfred after suffering Total Heart Block, I have nothing but praise for the place!

How hard is it for you not to try and jump in and help?
Spell Check is not my friend:
EMTs.......
What an awesome video! I really enjoyed that! Thank you 😊 for sharing it!
My hats off to the nurses and doctors who work these trauma ER’s.
In my home town Melbourne Victoria!

The uk should do this would save100s of life’s
so very interesting
Do you have any old episodes of Crash Investigation Unit which was an Australian reality TV show in the late 2000's, I can't find that show anywhere?
That's what our hospital needs. More ppl on the floor. More rooms for just trauma patients. But sadly it's not and it takes forever and we are a trauma hospital
This video is amazing! GOD bless the medical staff,
You are so not sure what time are you doing today and you are so not sure yet but I'm happy for you and your

Come to Chicago😢
So many shootings.
What if we remember the agony of surgery under anaestetic until we wake up
One chance in a million.
What's the speed limit there? Maybe they're driving way to fast. I don't know.
If your not an Aussie:
In Victoria its:
110kmh on a freeway
100kmh on a highway
local speeds vary from 40 to 100
As far as I know the max speed in Australia is 130kmh in the Northern Territory with some parts (I think) unlimited
In Australia we have a lot of vehicles on our roads as Australia is very large
We drive like nannies. Statistically we are heavily car reliant is all.
AMAZING 🙏
Okoo
TIGHTEN UP RULES OF THE ROAD & MAKE THEM STICK.
ALL LIVES MATTER ❤❤❤

Noone cares what u think so stfu 🙄
@@brittanyhartwick148 Oh yes they do. Very much.
Wheres the show were they do covid? There isnt one? Cause ots a scam.
How are these medical people so calm?!! In America medical personel hang from the ceiling during crisis. I dont trust these Australians. 😑
There are no snakes, spiders, drop bears etc trying to kill em, so easy to be calm :) But they do a freaking awesome job.
We are lucky our medical staff can keep calm on the surface like a duck on water but beneath the surface the legs are moving frantically. I'm blessed to live in Australia free helicopter if required bulk billed hospital and Dr care.
You are meant to stay calm in such situations to ensure everything goes smoothly.
@@janeilsley1131 perfect analogy!
Maybe de American personel watch too many american movies.
