Zeppelin--like so many other British rockers--were understandably enamored with American Blues music. This song is one of the most obvious examples of their love for the Blues.
It has been said that Zeppelin were the 4 right people, who met at the right time. Page was a brilliant guitarist who had very distinct ideas about the band he wanted to form and the music he wanted to make. John Paul Jones was a totally underrated bassist and keyboardist--a seasoned session musician who was responsible for many of Zeppelin's greatest songs. John Bonham was the man who literally set the pace for the band, the drummer who was Zeppelin's "secret rhythm weapon", as one music writer once put it. And Robert Plant was the "Golden God"--the primal rock frontman who made all the women a bit crazy.
    Awesome reaction, Niah.

I'm 50 now and since I discovered Zeppelin at the age of 9 in 1979/80 I've always felt the exact same feelings when I hear their music, in particular their live stuff. All my friends and I were devastated after hearing about the tragic death of their Drummer John Bonham in 1980. We continued to celebrate their musical genius by going down to a theatre in Toronto every weekend when we were like 14 years old to watch their movie called the Song Remains The Same and with a packed house smoke weed and lose ourselves in their imaginations.
Led Zeppelin is what was and will always be, the best rock band ever.

They were told, "You’ll go over like a lead zeppelin…" and thus they made it their name.

Led Zeppelin was always the best of the best.
Their song "Stairway to Heaven" was the number one song, every year, when the radio stations did the "end of the year" countdown to the number one song.
We knew they were great back then, in 1968 when they came to America, but they sure have stood the test of time.
I'm glad to see young people today, discovering them. There is nobody else like them. They are a great combination of rock and blues.
And Robert Plant was not hard on the eyes either

I’ve listened to Led Zeppelin everyday since I was 12, I’m now 25. At every age, every hardship, every moment of bliss, zeppelin was relevant. We go way back, enjoy “babe I’m gonna leave you live in Denmark”, another gem.

Led Zeppelin are the Goats of rock n roll. Singer-Robert Plant, guitar player-Jimmy Page, Drummer- John Bohnham, and organist/bass player - John Paul Jones
Try You Shook Me studio version and Dazed and Confused live from MSG
Saw them 4 times in concert. The best.

Check out the song When The Levy Breaks. Based on a Blues song from the Mississippi River flood of 1922. Plant plays a mean harp and Bonham lays down the most sampled drum track of all time.

This concert was in 1973 at that time Robert Plant was 24 almost 25. It was Their North American Tour, the footage was in Madison Square Garden. Later on, in 1976 they came out with a movie about them (same Footage) "The Song Remains The Same" Great stuff to say the least. Freeze on the police officer's face lol. Everyone was in shock the whole crowd. I'm 51 now and saw this when I was a kid I'm still like a kid watching it to this day. Oh, that guy named Jimmy Page was doing some Calypso fingerpicking style to Robert Plant's vocals towards the end, He is not your average
Rock guitarist God. It made me pick up a guitar at a young age. If you were amazed at Plant and Page, John Paul Jones Keyboards and John Bonham's drumming is second to none. The complete package. If you enjoyed this, From the same show look up "no Quarter"

Finally a member of LFR family react to this song live. Is one of the best for me. Robert and Bonzo have the same age, I think, more or less, they have 23-24 years old. The coming in 1969, Robert had 19 years, in 1973...23-24. Jimi y Joncy 26 aprox. So young all !!. Bonzo died at 32 years, ten years after the band coming to play . Because Bonzo Died, Zeppelin died too
