  • EMD is my favorite locomotive manufacturer and SD40-2 are one of my favorite engines. A model that has lasted a long time and still does with good numbers to this day. Here are some CNW examples hope you enjoy. Thanks for watching comment like and subscribe.

    I love how some of those Zito yellow dash 2's were both faded and filthy. Ahh... the good old days.

    If i had to pick one as a major hauler in midwest railroading i would say it was the 40-2 that moved the freight more so than any other make or model.... The other loco would be the 38-2 i think they were just used everywhere too

    Hello Jeff! Were those Mail (and/or Food 🥘) Hooks on both sides of the Tracks ? Thanks! 👍

      They look like mail bag hooks, my other guess is train orders for trains back in the old days. Upper would be the engineer and the lower would be for the conductor in the caboose.

      The beginning three shots were at Beverly yard in Cedar Rapids, IA.

      Beginning was Cedar Rapids then the rest was Clinton, IA area.
