My first skim board was a ZAP. When ,I started to ride waves ,I got a Victoria skim board.I skimmed all through the eighties and nineties. I miss catching waves.Thank you for sharing.
Nice video. I need to do a skim boarding trip to CA. In Florida, it's impossible to have your board slide on any type of wet sand unless there's some sort of water on it.
I also used to have this problem. I would recommend waiting to water drop until you can consistently get on your board while running at full speed. Also, when you water drop you want your weight to be more centered or else you will sink.
nice progress! Some tips if i may, more speed, flex the knees when on long distances, and you should'nt rinse your uper foot that much when making turns, you are actually "breaking" slowing down. Keep runing! srry for poor english
yo as a 12 year old kid trying to get into skim boarding can you give me advice because every time i try skim boarding i end up not even jumping on because i mentally cant. if you would reply that would help a lot.
This is awesome! I want to practice using my skimboard now. I’m a beginner to skimboarding. I want to buy a wetsuit, what brand and where do you recommend I buy one? I’m 5’3” and weight about 140. I don’t know what size or brand of wetsuit to buy. Pretty much clueless. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.
I use a billabong wetsuit, but it’s all really personal preference. I recommend finding a store and trying on a wetsuit so you can get one that you know you will like.
At the end of the video you can see that I do, but the reason I didn’t for most of the video was because water dropping is more difficult and requires a very solid foundation of one step dropping.
Dude how did you broke your first board so fast? im about to bought one that exact model, any suggestion ? or you just skimmed really rough that day ?xd
The cheaper exile boards are perfect for learning. The blue board I was using later in the video (and I still use now) is the exile pro model. It is good for me because I am tall and I lose momentum very quickly, and this board keeps it very well.
I train anywhere from 2-7 times per week unless the conditions are not doable. I live with very easy beach access which makes it easy to go and do after school.
Thanks! This skimboard is the Exile pro model. Here is a link: exileskimboards.com/collections/pro-models/products/custom-signature-pro-model-skimboard
I bought it directly from the Exile Skimboards factory, but here is a link to buy it online: exileskimboards.com/collections/pro-models/products/custom-signature-pro-model-skimboard

What’s that board called and the model of it

You'd bet!

Thanks!
Been skimming a little over 6 months too
great video ! such a good idea to record your progession. What kind of wax do you use to make it slide better on wet sand ?

Fantastic bro

Fr dude, I just watched a video before this saying to get that exact board
Nice work my new friend!! 👏🌮
Thanks!
Cool! What board do you use? I read that there 2 types: 1 for flatland made from plywood, 2 for waves. Is this true?
Yes, the wooden boards are made for just sliding on sand and the carbon fiber boards are made for wave-riding. I use an Exile Skimboards Pro Model.
Is that York maine?
What was the difference between you first skimboard and the one you have now? Why this first get broke so quickly ?! 😱
How do you your turns ?
Looks good!
Where is that beach at
I think California
Looks like a insane place to skim
Nice video mate! what´s your second board? I already bought an EX1 (exile) board for learning and I wondered if its a good choice
The cheaper exile boards are perfect for learning. The blue board I was using later in the video (and I still use now) is the exile pro model. It is good for me because I am tall and I lose momentum very quickly, and this board keeps it very well.
@@boredommedia thanks bro! keep improving ;)

I train anywhere from 2-7 times per week unless the conditions are not doable. I live with very easy beach access which makes it easy to go and do after school.
@@boredommedia wow that's a lot! That's why your progress is so good ! 👍🏻👍🏻
I love that keep it up ❤🎉👍

🔥 video keep it up
Thanks!

Hey I just started skimming kinda when you did. I hit the wedge sometimes too, we should hit it together sometime lol
Nice man! I’m sure you’ll find me down there at some point if you keep going because I’m there several times a week
@@boredommedia Ahh i used to live down there but now I go to school up north, but ill be there hopefully every day during the summer 🤙

Thanks!
I love it when you approach a wave and go
Oh god
Yea been there
Lmaoo sometimes that's just all you can do
Bro no way in only 6 months you already like that. Mad impressive
How much time a week are you putting to the sport?
Thanks so much! I practice as much as I can and when the waves are doable, which is anywhere from 2-6 times per week most of the time.
@@boredommedia 👌🏻👌🏻
Lol we live in a simulation. I literally had all these moments learning to skim.
nice bro
Thanks :D
Yo I honestly think I saw you skimming one time before
2:49 that kid got sniped
Me skimming for 5 months and still cant catch a wave D:
I think you forgot to change the year
Yes I did haha
Lol you run so slow! But still a cool video. Thanks for sharing
Lol! I used to run slow because I was still generally uncomfortable with being on the board, but I go fast now! Thanks for the feedback!
@@boredommedia you’re the man! Keep up the good work
You need to learn how to kickturn a ramp on a skate, it will improve your turns.
That's a good idea, thanks!
Thats it keep trying
stay persistent
You run like Steven Seagal
Running with a skimboard looks weird when you are a beginner
What is the fun of doing this? Are you so afraid of the ocean that you can barely enter it?
Shut up man, you dont get it. Once you have a few year’s practice, its pretty much surfing. Have you ever tried it?
where did you buy the blue skimboard and how much was it, please respond and leave a link
I bought it directly from the Exile Skimboards factory, but here is a link to buy it online: exileskimboards.com/collections/pro-models/products/custom-signature-pro-model-skimboard
@@boredommedia THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!😁
