For all non-musicians here, let me explain what this is. This is an insanely perfect rendition of a complex song, played by completely acoustic instruments, all in one take, with brilliant percussion (drums) wonderful voice and 4 guitars, all in perfect sync. They played the special Live version which includes a very hard intro and a special version of the end solo, which is hard to find, so I can assume they learned all this by ear. Please applaud. This is one of a kind.
In 1976, the legendary Eagles recorded their track in a fully equipped studio. In contrast, you guys had none of that - instead, you were surrounded by crocs and snakes. Yet, you delivered a superb performance. I would have liked to see a bit more from the backup singers, but hey, with no electric guitars, boys, you absolutely nailed it. @@sunset1394 I am a guitarist. So no I didn’t fail at anything. Creation is where the talent is, finding certain catchy melodies which the public can enjoy. Anyone can learn techniques or music that came before, many can also just pick up a guitar and find the notes for it, this is all learned from years of practice. Making a catchy song though really isn’t. It’s the voice you have. All I’m saying is that when people mention “talent” for things like this it makes a lot of people give up on guitar because they think they just aren’t “talented”. Everyone can learn this stuff, just takes dedication and time.

Dude sameee! My mom showed me the hell freezes over show when I was young and just starting to really get into guitar and said if I could master this song she'd give me all her props. I learned up until Joe Walshs last solo lol this video definitely makes me wanna finish learning it and do my own cover. Inspired! Lol
Hotel California used to be the most popular English song in Sri Lanka in the early 2000s because the Hell Freezes Over version of this song was frequently broadcasted on our local TV channels. All my friends in high school knew the lyrics by heart, and many local bands regularly played this song in their live shows. I'm sure this is why these guys can also play it so well.

When you listen to the live version, with all the glam that comes from a stage performance, you think it’s impossible for any group of people to replicate it. Then you see a group of young folks on a boat absolutely crush their rendition :D anyone can do anything, it’s not about production, but dedication to the craft!

my girl and i were looking for a place to rent , meanwhile we were staying at a hotel uptown and we made good money but we drank and partied too much , our plan was to stay there for a few weeks, it turned into 7 months and this became "our song" that was 30 years ago , she since passed away and i miss her , every time i hear this song i think of the good times.
