    haha you found a good deepsea snapper spot. those parasites r realyl lodged in the barracuda's flesh! so gross looking. i remember landing my 1st ever hapuka on a jig haha man that was so unexpected. you got urself some great feed out of the deep thats for sure!

      I used it regularly throughtout the day but often do enjoy drifting when prospecting new areas.

    Snapper from 100m+ are heaps nicer eating in my opinion. Way more fat in the flesh, you see it all over the knife when you fillet them

    snapper is everywhere in nz, i dont like this fish...........

      Such good eating like most of nz fish. Try curries, crumb, batter, smoke, masala curry powder rub , herb balls, fish cakes, each recipe changes taste. A good recipe can make sprats taste fantastic.
