Hi! I just moved to Houston, Tx from NYC and for the first time ever, I have to shop around for an energy provider. BIG difference from NYC, where your only option is ConEd (IYKYK). I have to say, this is the BEST video I have come across explaining KWH usage and the difference between fixed and variable options. THANK YOU!! 🙏🏼
Great video my man! I got the 10.8c 36 months plan and I was shocked to see rates closer to 14.1c during winter (226kwh) and 11.2c during summer (1125kwh)! What a scammy marketing by the electric companies! Wish I looked at the fine print before signing up long term
@@ThriftyTony Correction on that. After posting, I called them and spoke about it. The "flat rate" is in fact a monthly rate with no termination fee but I need to read the agreement. The proposed amount would be about twice as much overall than I'm currently paying, after doing some quick math. So, I would have to really start leaving a bunch of stuff on if I'm going to feel like I'm getting a deal.
This is trash. The whole video said one thing while at the very end you finally mentioned shifting heavy electricity use to off peak would save money. You say the spreadsheet made the math trivial yet you did not show the math? Flat rate isn't cheaper if you actually care to use less electricity.

Oh man so you're locked in for 36 months, is that what that means?
Very helpful. Thank you so much for doing the research!!
excellent video! really appreciate the time, research, data and effort you put into this! Very helpful, thank you!
Thanks, really happy to hear that Justin :)
Thank you! Super helpful👍
You're welcome!
Absolutely Inspiring
What do you mean youll make out better the more energy you use on a viarable rate? I dont understand.
When some is a high energy user the savings is more . Me on vari pricing my savings was $8.50 for the year
Thank u
Welcome
Variable should never be a option! The market only goes up ! Whenever it goes down it spikes right back up !
I have a new challenge for you. I just received an offer from INSPIRE for 'flat monthly' price that is all-you-can-eat pricing.
Wow! How does the price compare to what you're paying now?
