- Hey guys! Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have any questions.
By this point, Thursday Boot Company (or should I say "Thursday Quality Goods?) has proven they can bring high quality items outside the boot realm. This leather weekender bag is the latest in a long line that I've been fortunate enough to try, including the Commuter Bag, the Raw Denim Trucker Jacket, the Waxed Field Jacket, and the Keanu Jacket. Even if it's not objectively "the best" on the market, Thursday keeps bringing really high quality and fairly priced goods that you really "know what you're getting." And I appreciate that.

Love the shoe compartment and how Thursday puts small pockets wherever they can inside the bag.
Yeah it's a thoughtful design wrapped in a classic package!
Great review - just bought one.
Thanks, Jason! Hope you like it!
Great review Patrick. I am a HUGE Thursday fan. The bag looks sharp. I love the separate shoe compartment.
Thanks, Erik! Hard not to be a big Thursday fan when they keep releasing hit after hit. I need to try their new flannel soon... ugh! ;)
It’s great to see this! I think my favorite feature is the shoe/boot compartment.
Yeah, love how it's "boot sized" also. Perfect for folks like us! Thanks man!
This looks like a great bag. Thanks for sharing!
Sure thing, Joe! It's pretty good on first inspection. 👍
Wow Patrick, the bag here is outstanding. I'm so practical/utilitarian/function-over-form when it comes to travel "accoutrements". Looks like a dash of style is in order. I have a birthday coming up and may treat myself to something special. The old school aesthetic here is fantastic.
Nice, Mega! Let me be the first to wish you a happy birthday! A nice leather good is a great gift. I always appreciate that dash of style while traveling!
@@rockymtnstyle Thanks for the well wishes! Yeah, a dash of style is a good thing.
I just bought the old English minimalist version for a gym duffle. I can't wait to put it through its paces whilst being the envy of the locker room.
I love it! That's the exact kind of subtle flex I'd do!
Thanks mate, looks liek a solid contender!
You got it, sir!!
That underlining is a nice touch. Probably a new requirement for future bags.
Yeah you could be right! Thanks for stopping by!
I’m curious in both the Anejo and Old English color in natural light. At least this checks one out. Also hoping these bags comes in Cacao or Chocolate (like the Chairman) eventually.
I have the Keanu Jacket in Old English. I'll shoot a YT short sometime soon and post it showing both in natural light. 👍
Hey man! Just posted a short showing them next to each other. Hope it helps.
I just found this and am curious how you've found it after a couple of months of use. I've got a Mahi bag right now which is a bit flimsy for my taste and I'm debating getting a nicer leather weekender, which is how I found your video. I'm looking at this, at the Carl Friedrik Palissey Weekender, and researching what other options are out there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Hey, Simon! To be honest, I haven't really gotten to use it that much. I've only had a single over-night trip since I got it. For that one trip, it performed admirably! I've had no issues with the leather or build quality, and the bag held everything I needed for a 2-day trip (boots included). I will be doing a full-review on it sometime in March, but yeah, it's hard to use it for anything when I haven't traveled that much! And I don't go to the gym, otherwise I'd use it as a gym bag too! :) I don't have a ton of experience with other bags in this segment, but just like with most Thursday products, it seems like really good value for money compared to something like a Palissy (which is probably objectively "nicer" but double the cost).
@@rockymtnstyle Thanks for the reply! Yes, the price is definitely higher for the Carl Friedrik, which is why I'm making sure I do my homework before I buy. I'm looking for a bag that I can use for a 3-4 day trip, although I'm not counting on it to hold tailoring. Carrying boots isn't an issue, but shoes is :).
Any time! Good luck with your deliberations.
@@rockymtnstyle Thank you! Fortunately I'm like you in how often I use my weekender bag. I usually end up with suitcases for my travels :). So I have time to research and deliberate.
Has anyone used this as a carry on bag for flying? The dimensions seem to fit minus the height being 2 inches over what most airlines use for guidelines.
I haven't tried, and based on the eye test I could see a lot of gate agents questioning you. Shame they didn't make it slightly smaller!
Shoes/boots should be placed soles down. You get more room in the main compartment.
Guess you didn't watch through? I came to the same conclusion. Thanks for the comment, though! :)
It's hard to tell but is this small enough to be a carry on?
It's OK on two dimensions, but the width is supposed to be no more than 10 for a carryon and the bag is 11... So if you don't have it packed to the brim I bet you could fit it in one of those auditing bins.
@@rockymtnstyle thank you
In some cases prices/brands don't determine the quality of the items. I'm a big fan of Thursday boots they always deliver high quality products at very affordable prices!
Totally agree. Thursday has carved out a well deserved niche in the areas they compete in.
What color is your?
Anejo. It's in the title. 👍
YKK zippers?
Nope, they don't have any marking on them at all. No idea who makes them. Probably not YKK I'd guess. :)
