I stayed in Helmholtzkiez back in September. I have never felt so welcome and at home. I stayed on Dunckerstrasse. I fell in love with Berlin and have decided to live there half of the year starting in 2023.
thank you for this work. I come to tears. I lived in Pren'zl Berg for 53 years. moved four times. grew up in Kastanienallee. at the end at Mauerpark habitual. really great thing what you're doing here. Großen Dank
Wow, thank you very much too! You know about a big changing history in Berlin. Kastanienallee had changed a lot after fall of the Berlin Wall, no? Berlin has been changing still now. I would like to document on this moment. Vielen Dank
@@RecLab yes the turning point. 11/09/1989 is the date that nobody will forget. as for the kastanienallee. before '89 the street was dead. now life is booming there. i'm glad about it. I am there often and with pleasure. now as a tourist because I no longer live in Berlin. but always nice to meet old friends. Berlin has changed for the better. the Berliners stayed the same. stubborn and direct, but friendly. like me. Ich grüße dich. Bleib gesund.
I see. if you are interested. I was recently asked where the Berlin dialect comes from. I answered: Berlin doesn't have a dialect, but a metropolitan area. like in Cologne. a dialect arises in a closed community or community. a metrolect is created by immigration over a longer period of time. the jews and slaves played a major role in the Berlin pronunciation. just like the name Berlin comes from Slavic. ber = swamp, lin = land ... (freely translated). that is why there will never be skyscrapers in Berlin. take a look at the subway in Schönhauser Allee. you were there. the foundations oversized. every skyscraper over 150m would tilt like the leaning tower of Piesa after ten years. Paris also means swamp. But that's another topic.
Rec Lab. isnt it the area where the interbau 57 was built? idk i thought it might be interesting, also thank you for taking the time to answer. greetings from buenos aires, argentina
Truly summer as most people are in shorts 😁. True depiction of Berlin Graffiti culture. I guess building owners forcefully embraced alternative facades.

Thank you for another great video! In the 13th minute, you can see one of the funniest things I did in Berlin: the great Teledisko.
Teledisko! I saw it in Potsdamer str. How was it?
@@RecLab I found it at Holzmarkt market. It was amazing and you should certainly try it. :)
Super interesting! Really nice to experience this with you. Thanks!
Thank you as always!
In love 😻
