- Jenny and Amy…such good friends. or those of you wondering, bears rarely have any trouble with cold…they love the cold, as you can see here as Jenny lays right on the iced over pond! We don’t worry about having to keep them warm, it’s always more difficult to keep a bear COOL in the summer, than warm in the winter!

Not really - they are in something like torpor vs. full-on hibernation.

they go into torpor instead of true hibernation which can be said of many bears in the wild as well. It all depends on their climate.
