Thanks for the vid. I appreciate that there are no good solutions for those of us who want good audio AND a monitor on our a7s3/FX3 setup. This one looks too top heavy for me to want to use it handheld. Plus I'm afraid the shotgun will pick up the monitor fan with it so close by. As awkward as Mark Bone's grip is on the top handle in his video, I think I'd rather just get used to that...considering most of the time I'll have my left hand on the side handle and right hand on the camera grip.
@@luisedtr07 Good to know. But do you find it top-heavy? I feel like when I add weight to my rig I want it to become more stable, but this looks like it will become harder to keep steady on teh roll axis (that's what you call it right?)
I've been searching all over for a minimal setup and everything else out there is just a total ghetto rig. But this looks clean as hell. Thanks for sharing!
Luis, buen video. What did you put in the bottom of the monitor to attach to the cold shoe? I want it to be flexible like you have it that it tilts and pans the monitor. Also, I want to use my RODE Video Mic instead of my Rode NG2. Where would you put that?
Would you choose the Sony fx3 or the r6 mark ii for documentary/vlog content? For some reason, I enjoy using canon cameras more than Sony. Great Content
Thanks! Ah man I’ve never used the r6 so i can’t speak from personal experience but I would still choose the fx3 especially if you want to use for documentary. To me it’s a better fit because of the audio handle and how easy it is to rig up or down.
@@luisedtr07 Great job and my hat is off for you. It takes a lot of discipline to do that. I'm loving your videos, thank you for all of your hard work and sharing it with us!
@@matesowski yes. I finally removed the Sony microphone mount and hacked/replaced with a rycote mount. Problem solved. But, I've stopped using the handle. It's starting to creek when I manipulate the camera and I'm seeing a lot of these breaking in half. Just not worth it, I replaced with metal handle and use zoom F3 for audio input.

Thanks, John Leguizamo. Nice setup. Loved you in "Chef" too.
lol
Bro I was gonna say the same thing!
THANK YOU!!!! I've been trying to find a solution to this annoying problem! That plate is exactly what I needed.
Snap man I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one with this problem lol 😂

I was concerned about the monitor noise as well but honestly I didn't have an issue. It also just depends on which monitor you have.

9 months later is this still your go to setup for using a monitor with the fx3? How are you finding it now?
hell yea man.. it's great!

I keep seeing John Leguizamo. The setup is nice too. I think I've found a winner.
What battery are you using ?
hey hey, thanks this is very helpful. can you share a link to the last piece that mounts the monitor to the rig?
Good question. Have you found out what it is yet?
HI, what microphone do you use with the sony fx3 mount?
so what small rig connection did you but to hook up monitor to cold shoe on top of plate
Do a review on the SLR Magicic lens please
I have the same setup, but my issue is my shotgun mic pics up fan noise from my monitor. 😕
Which monitor are u using? I was afraid of that too but I haven’t had any issues this far with the atomos or my smallhd

Hello, could you please tell me why on my on-camera monitor the picture is not displayed in full screen?
I think you have to adjust the HDMI out settings.
@@luisedtr07 thank you
Turn off display info on your Fx3
I did the juice fast and after 4 days I started throwing up. To this day, 3 years later, the smell of celery juice makes me nautious.
Wow! Haha gosh my goal was to only do 3 days so I’m happy to be back eating solid foot 😅

My monitor internal fan resonance vibrates through the handle and into the microphone. No matter what I do. So, unusable for me on the handle.
Yea I've had that issue before but it depends on the monitor.
Do you have an atomos Ninja V Monitor ?

I did a juice fast for 40 days. It destroyed my metabolism so be careful.
Sorry to hear! Man, yea I was only doing it for 3 days but I’ll keep that in mind.
