- SmokeeBee Plays BAD PARENTING. What can I even say about this game? It's such a heartbreaking game that so artfully depicts such horrific incidents. As much as the game made me sad, I have to admit that it was turly fantastic. The storytelling, music, and character designs were all so fascinating. I can't wait for the creator to make more games! I hope you enjoyed watching and stayed safe. Love you guys!

4:27 One thing I noticed, is that this is foreshadowing to the end of the game, showing that Little Ron has had to live with the consequences of what happened, compared to Big Ron. "The master makes mistakes" referring to the father and what he did to the child, and the "It's not as bad as the other dolls" could mean that the others he met suffered worse fates than he did.

I honestly think that "It's not as bad as the other dolls" mean like about the other kids, If Ron has a 'knowing doll" then the other kids must have one, and I wonder what they look like if Ron's doll is in better condition.

For those who are confused:
Ron (the little boy) is killed by his father in the middle of the night because his parents had a fight and the entire story was about how he saw everything in his head, Mr red face giving him the toy and locking it in the cupboard was him getting killed and locked into the closet, and when Ron sees the doll after meeting Mr red face it's him seeing himself dead, how he truly is after his dad killed him.
The doll is Rons "knowing part" of him (the part that comprehends his death)
And his dad is Mr red face (an embodiment of his dad when he is angry)

@@NarthDraws the game is more about the stages of grief he goes through, if this was real then yes, he would just be dead, but the game is about his denial and the process he goes through to except it, kinda like a person who was groomed or abused accepting or realising that they have been taken advantage of, he slowly begins to realize that his father was actually a bad person and that he always has had that thought in the back of his mind. The doll being that thought, and the realisation being the entire game.
@@beeghost-44 what I'm confused about is that in the part where rons mom caught him in her closet. She stated that hes hallucinating the doll, and the stories of what happened. So we can assume that what happened previously is his imagination but isn't this the part where he's dead? How come the mom sees him alive?
We can chalk this up as another hallucination, I guess. Which explains why she promised to be home, but didn't because she never made such promises. (though it probably is in-character for her)
The scene were doll Ron is talking about the "truth" he talks about how the mom can see him when at night but not at day, which confuses me. Sure, at night it makes sense. You can't see him properly, but isn't he rotting? Wouldn't he smell, or even feel mushy or cold to the touch? I assumed that she took him to bed at night believing he's still alive, which would explain the scene were he passed out but was carried to bed by his mom.
but that's not possible because she checks the closets first. I'm honestly just so confused and I'm still hung up on that part because it doesn't make sense. I feel like some people are hyping up "bad parenting" a bit too much. There's just a lot of unexplained plots with half-assed reasons. Bad parentings lore feels a bit all over the place.
@ElizaGrumo well I guess you found a plot hole then, since this also does confuse me a little, but I think the reason behind this may be because it's cutting between his mind and reality. we see things from his perspective most of the time, meaning we miss out on alot of the key details. there are also probably metaphors I'm missing (I'm sorry abt that btw) I also think we only really see things the was Ron wants them to be seen, until the end that is, when it is all revealed to him by himself, also ya alot of the stuff could also just be another hallucination🤷🏼
8:23 this probably means that the child is malnourished, and too weak to open the jammed door, as stated by the note left by his mom, he often forgets to eat. As stated at 5:47 in the note

I'm pretty sure the real reason is the kid is dead, his body is in there and the cupboard door being locked is like the kid being unable to accept the fact that he has to move on

Because ron was in a closet in the ending it seems like the kids and their hiding spots are where they died

At first, I thought the mom was also evil from seeing clips of other people playing, but now after watching a full playthrough I realize the mom was just trying to raise her kid. Of course she was neglectful but at least she tried to take care of him...
I think she was doing the most she could w a bum ass husband like hers. Still, she was VERY neglectful, but I assume they didn't have the money for a babysitter.
She reminds me of a mom who's had a bad life and she's trying to fix herself but it's causing pain for her kid.

It makes sense in a weird way, to the dolls neck being crooked, to the magic scene being linked back to the dad drinking beer towards the end, to the kids being in their death places in the end, really amazing!

some not so funfacts about this game!
(!Spoilers for anyone who hasnt seen the full video yet!)
1: in the intro, the door opens 14 times. which is a reference to the 14 days Ron has been dead, and how long it took for Robin(the name of the protagonists' mom) to find Rons body.
2: the protagonists dad is Mr. red face. not only that, but a side effect of drinking too much alcohol is your face turning red.
3: the reason as to why Rons head flew up randomly when Mr. red face first appeared was actually a reference to when his father snapped his neck.
4: the reason Rons dolls neck is loose is because it's a reference to Rons broken neck
5: at the end, you notice the three children sitting in some unusual spots. such as; a hole in the ground, a firepit, and the trunk of a car. what if i told you that the places they're sitting in are theorized to be references as to how the children died/how their bodies were hidden? like how at the end, Ron was sitting in a closet. for an example, it is theorized that the boy sitting in the fire was either burned alive, or when he died, who or what killed him burned his body so it would never be found. the girl sitting in a hole might be a reference to how she might've been buried alive, or her body was hidden deep into the ground. and the baby sitting the trunk of a car is theorized to have been kidnapped and killed, or their body was stuffed in the car trunk.
6: the real reason as to why the protagonists favorite food never ran out, was because they never ate it in the first place. as they were dead.
7: not sure if this one is true, but i *THINK* its implied that Ron might have schizophrenia?? (keywords: "i THINK", I'm not 100% sure about this one.)
8: when the doll Ron supposedly drank from the bottle, it was a reference to Bruce drinking heavily and his face turning red.
(Honestly i think it's safe to say that "bad parenting" will go down in history of the most disturbing and fucked up game of 2024.)

The story is so sad. I actually teared up a little at the end.
If you think about it on 3:31 when Mr. Red face enters the room we can see a doll in his hand, this is foreshadowing to Ron and his dad k__ing him then putting him in the closet. But also when we grab the doll the box it came in foreshadowed what Ron’s casket was. Poor Ron :(

I love this game so much. even though I haven’t played it I’ve watched playthrough after playthrough, and I love watching exactly when the person playing pieces it all together. The entire storyline has references to what actually happened, but the true understanding only hits when the crucial part of the story is filled in. Something in the story feels missing for the first part, and when the player finds out the truth it all pieces together immediately, that’s what I love about the game, the fact that it has so much foreshadowing but the plot twist still hits you like a truck, and then when you see it, you understand everything, like why Mr Redface has a red face, it’s because usually people can get very flustered and ‘Red in the face’ when they drink, which is a reference to the dad drinking. When the player thinks they’re saving the dad, it’s actually just Ron’s spirit visiting him, that’s why we find the ‘spell card’ in that room. We throw the spell card in the room with Ron’s mum, which is foreshadowing to the motel card, the doll is foreshadowing what happened to Ron’s neck and how his body decayed later on, the door opens and closes 14 times at the start before fully opening and slamming shut, Ron was dead for 14 days, the doll drinking was a reference to the dad drinking, the dead children were references to Ron being in the afterlife, and the locations of the dead children that were ‘also looking for their parents’ was where their bodies where hidden (since Ron is in a closet at the end, but doesn’t have a broken neck, so it isn’t ’how they died’ it’s where their bodies went afterwards. So one of the kids was hidden in the trunk of the car, obviously they could’ve died there too but eh, one of the kids’ bodies was burned, and another kid had their body buried). The cat is most likely a reference to ‘death’ or the being that welcomes people into the afterlife or something like that, perhaps a reference to the unlucky ways that the children died in, since black cats can be referred to as bad luck and purple is a close colour to black, though it might be a bit of a stretch on that one, you get what I mean. This game is so deep and that’s I love it so much :D
