On most bikes the helmet lock is meant for storing a helmet whilst parked, and not actually intended for transporting the helmet. I can still remember seeing that warning label on my 2012 cbr600f But then again. I'll still do it when needed.
I used a net on my back seat all through my early 20s. Works great for holding helmets, jugs of milk, or any other odd items. Most powersports dealers sell them.
You do realize that you want chicken straps right? If you're using all your tire, then you're at the edge and don't have good body positioning. Plus if your bike is that far over, suspension doesn't work horizontally. That's why you use your body. Do some research, you'll see

When I first started riding at age 16, there wasn't a mandatory helmet law in my state. When I would pick up my girlfriend, I'd simply give her my helmet to wear. Then came the new helmet law, and I was out of luck.
That actually wicked dangerous. One chick I know whose a teacher for the Harley Riders course told me about someone she knew who did the same thing. They ended up having to make a quick hard brake&she smashed into the back of his head with his helmet&he was in a coma for a few days&brain damage. If it was reversed, &he had it on&she smashed into his head without one on, she wouldn’t busted her entire face&probably a similar scenario. My state doesn’t have mandatory helmet laws, so she said she’ll always tell her students either you both wear a helmet, or no one does; but everyone wear a helmet every time no matter how sort the ride. I always have my gear on, except for the few times I don’t wear my jacket because I’m literally riding up a .3 miles through my suburban street to the store, just my helmet, riding shoes, &gloves for gear along with pants(never sweat pants).
One day I just started getting bike shorts, never have ridden, but one thing is forsure, if I do start, you’ve convinced me to stay away from Gsxr’s lol
No matter what anyone says, GSXR’s are still probably the sexiest sounding bikes out there, not a huge fan of some of newer models aesthetically but some of the older ones look sick, and the new 2023 GSXR 1000 is pretty sweet all around.
On my KTM Duke, I use a small cargo net with hook to secure my spare helmet on the tank instead of leaving it dangling behind me. Depend on your bike, I guess it's worth to consider.
With my r3 the rear seat has a strap going across it, i just hook the helmet to the strap like you would if you are wearing it. Also idc who my bike attracts, i just love riding on two wheels
